Kinda lame but i havent posted anywhere in a while so I kinda wanted to see how our Space monkeys did with the book gifts this year.

Other than a few gift certificates to Barnes & Nobles and waldenbooks I made out with a couple of good things to shelve.
The Annotated Loita- Vladimir Nabokov(thanks Jeff for the idea)
Representative Men-R.W. Emerson(a crispy yellowed old ass copy)

I'm not too sure of how I'm gonna spend my gift cards, you guys are welcome to throw me some ideas maybe something Ive overlooked out there...Okay booknerds I know I'm not the only one...Ante up!

Michael Crichton- Prey
Some book about submarines by some guy

And with my gift certificate I bought:
Half Asleep In Frog Pajamas by Tom Robbins
Prozac Nation by Elizabeth Wertzel (I bought this book simply because everybody on the Cult hates it so much. I figure that it's prolly something I"ll like by default.)

Hurrm, if this topic is any indication the Burroughs estate cleaned up this holiday season.
Hopefully it all goes to his surviving cats.

I got a signed copy of 'Strawberry Girl' by Lois Lenski. It was one of my favorite books as a kid. I'm still in awe that someone found this for me.

Also, Kafka Diaries, The DaVinci Code, an ARC of 'All the Pretty Horses' by McCarthy, Choke (hee hee), 'A Gentle Madness' by Nicholas A. Brisbanes, and a couple off cookbooks.

I'm not sure. I've read that as its own book. These are the diaries in two volumes spanning 1910-1923.

This kinda counts, since I bought it with my giftcard. And then it doesn't count because I wasted five damn dollars of my giftcard.

February issue of Playboy. Seeing that month in my cluttered memory as the one Chuck's Guts was to be published in. And it's not. I couldn't even redeem my actions by giving it to my boyfriend because that nasty, trashy Jamie Pressley's on the cover, so it's worthless to him too.

Happy Anyway.
