Good Omens
yes, i did and yes, i am
I'm about half way done with it, but so far my favorite is Neverwhere. What about you?
definately neverwhere, i'm probably one of the few that even liked the neverwhere tv movie too, what with all the horribly low budget effects but it was cool too see the characters brought to life none the less
also if you havent got it yet, get American Gods next

Well I will have read them all after I finish good omens, as well as his short stories and comics. and did you know that the Neverwhere bbc miniseries came first and was writen by him, I also liked that show as well.
yeah, i had heard that was why he wrote the book was because he wasn't happy with the way the movie turned out but either way i like em both and wouldnt mind seeing any of his books made into a slightly bigger budget movie in the future

well he is doing the movie Mirror Mask, one based on the book Coraline and one on the comicbook Books of Magic. I also heard a rummer that he is going to remake neverwhere in a high budget movie, but that was just a rummer.
...get American Gods next
Have you read the short story in Legends II from the American Gods "world"? It was good enough to get me thinking about reading American Gods, I suppose if it's good I'll have to pick it up.

yea gaiman's great, of the ones i've read i liked good omens the best, but i love pratchett too. Next would probably be neverwhere and American Gods. Stardust, has anyone read that one? It seems to be largely ignored, when talking about gaiman... was it bad or is that just a weird thing that i dont hear it talked about much?
EDIT: and oh yea, mirrormask looks to rock my socks.
Is anyone else reading Good Omens or otherwise a fan of Neil Gaiman?
mostly all i do of neil's now is skim through all those sandman series of graphic novels my wife has collected.
"I won't cum quietly!"
Yup, I read Good Omens last week.
I nominated it for the book club selection for next month.

it's got my vote
Yeah, it's a good read.
I like the union between Gaiman and Pratchett, and this thread has inspired me to buy American Gods.

ive read stardust and yeah its pretty damn good too as would be expected
what i think gets it the overlook is because its basically ALL in a fantasy setting whereas most of gaimans other works have at least some basis in a world simliar to one we know
i am really not much a fan of sci fi fantasy stuff to begin with so i only picked it up being a fan of gaiman and i really enjoyed it
so what im trying to say is if your a fan of fantasy or gaiman id say its worth a pick up
rawk, i'll pick it up.

Legends II is the second, obviously, in a serious of science fiction/fantasy anthologies edited by Robert Silverberg that contain novellas by some of sf/f's most popular authors writing in their most popular worlds. i.e. if tolkien was alive he would contribute a LoTR story. Neil Gaimen wrote his in the American Gods world and the story is called The Monarch of the Glen. Other contributers include George RR Martin, Robin Hobb, and, Orson Scott Card. Monarch of the Glen was a pretty good story; it interested me enough to consider reading American Gods if the consensus from Gaimen fans is that it's worth reading. I really enjoyed Good Omens, but I was wondering if that wasn't the Terry Prachett factor since a Discworld novel is pretty much never a bad thing.
Damn, I'm really a dork.
