Chuck Palahniuk First Edition Books...?

are you looking for first editions, or first prints ?

Look on the copyright page. If the number line at the bottom reads 1234567890, this is a first print. If the number line reads 234567890; this is a second print .If the number line reads 34567890; this is a third print.

It can say first edition because nothing has changed between printings like a new foreword.

ok so heres another thing...my copy of Rant has the numbers 10987654 at the bottom but stops there...

And what if it's done under a different publisher. Say you have a first print of a new publisher but not of the original publisher, does this cheapen the value of said book?

I'm asking all this stuff cuz I eventually want to have first editions/first prints of all of Chuck's books and eventually get them signed.

The very first print of the first publisher is considered the true first edition.

I'm not sure about RANT, I'll check mine later.

I think that's the second print, but I'll find out for sure. Both my Rant and Snuff firsts have: 109876542

my first edition RANT is a stated first edition with this numberline:
1 3 5 7 9 10 8 6 4 2
so i know that's a first edition first print

can't say about snuff as it is out on loan at the moment

as for some of the others
the fight club first printing
runs in excess of 400.00
haunted 1st/1st costs 50
but you may be able to find a copy of haunted 1st 1st for approx. $30 via ebay, if you look daily. IM is an impossible purchase, an impossible find in a first print. i myself have never seen one in hand. but i know you have a better chance of getting them now in first/first than if you wait a few more years. and good luck
