Boo! It's October. From Which Books Shall You Never Return?
there are 6 volumes
Yazmeen better hope I draw her name...
This is why we can't have nice things.
What is this No Easy Day book? It's not the one about the Navy and Osama Bin Laden is it?
'Tis indeed.
Is that good then?
I hate Dracula. I can't even finish it, I hate it. I am almost never so bored by something that I can't concentrate and finish it but this really takes the biscuit. I have to skip this, I'll write my essay on some other book this year, Jesus Christ.
Yeah, and they're all great.
The Hardcovers have more books than the Paperbacks. So... You still need 5 volumes.
Georges Simenon - Maigret and the Hundred Gibbets.

I'm glad I read it. It's not great lit, but aint terrible
I may have to cuddle you now. You've been warned.
This is why we can't have nice things.
Haha, I could use a cuddle so scooch up!
Switch by Grant Mc Kenzie. A thriller I have high hopes for.
w00t.
Also: Life on the Mississippi - Frank Twain
This is why we can't have nice things.
Crossing all the fingers.
I Didn't Mean to Be Kevin by Caleb J Ross.
I'm going to be halloween reading! I have to read Interview With the Vampire for my course plus my choices this year are (drumroll).........
The Daylight Gate by Jeanette Winterson - Witches, no doubt lesbian witches eh guys? heh
The Walking Dead compendium 2! Get in!
I get this confused with We Need To Talk About Kevin because I've been meaning to read both but have actually read neither.
When I first saw a trailer for the movie, I was like, Whoa, that Litreactor guy is doing well for himself.
I don't think Caleb is much of a LitReactor guy. He's mainly from The Velvet. I could be wrong though, I'm rarely at LitReactor.
Either way, I have I Didn't Mean to Be Kevin sitting on my shelf.
When I was reading a draft of the manuscript some years ago, I highlighted that phrase as a possible title. He agreed and ran with it. (Yep, this is the part where I take all credit for his success, haha.) Later, when I was made aware of the other book and film (which is disturbingly-excellent, by the way), I felt kinda bad, but then not, as any potential confusion probably works to Caleb's advantage.
The Velvet is pretty sparse these days, unfortunately (though I try my best to keep discussion stoked), and he participates in both. Here, too.
I haven't been back to the velvet since it was down a while back...
I finished Book one today and I started Book two before taking a nap.
So far Swamp Thing is the perfect read to get in the mood for Halloween.
Wait until you get towards the last couple books. It's really weird.
That won't be for a while.
Like me?
No, like he goes and lives on other planets.
You just think you do.
Good job, Caleb! Yet another book of yours that I just loved.
That No Easy Day book - was there anything new in it that would make you say it is a must-read for people concerned with such matters.
Aside from it contradicting the Official Bin Laden Death Scene, not especially.
It is concise and plausible in that aspect. Nothing even remotely "secret" is given away. There are probably better-written tales of SEALS-in-combat if militaryactionbooks are one's thing.
This is why we can't have nice things.
A Tale of Two Cities.
I read all of the wikipedia pages about that guy. Now I want to get this book too.
That's on my Soon list. My Dickens plan has taken backseat to my Twain plan. So far it's working out as a half-dozen Twains (or even more if shorter works) followed by one Dickens with a few shorter modern works scattered in between.
This is why we can't have nice things.
The story is that I tried reading that when I was 17 and only managed to read 67 pages (the bookmark was still in it). I'm loving it now. Besides, it's one of the 3 books I ever left unfinished, and I plan to read them all at some point. The other two are Notre-Dame de Paris and, to my shame, The War of the End of the World.
I've read so little 'classic' literature it hurts. And now mostly everybody in my class graduated from the Philology department, and they studied literature all 3 years, so I need to catch up. My second to-read list for 2012 is almost all crossed out (7 more, aside from what I'm reading now), so there is hope. Except I still want to read at least some of the books I received on my birthday by the end of the year.
A Clash of Kings by George R. R. Martin.
I read the last 200 pages without stopping to sit in a better position or drink water or crack my knuckles or anything. I loved it and I can't but regret I didn't read it when I started it the first time. And the ending... wow.
I'll start The Wind-Up Bird Chronicle today in between classes. I have four hours for that.
I wonder if I'll ever read a boring book by Haruki Murakami. But since I won't read 1Q84 for a long time, I think the answer is no.
I loved all of his books. But I heard such bad things about 1Q84, I'm not sure I'll ever give that a shot.
1q84 is better than Norwegian Wood.
I'll start The Casual Vacancy tomorrow because it's already online! My excuse with this one is that it's the equivalent of $30 in Romania.
My mom keeps bugging me to read Cloud Atlas. I know it's supposed to be great, but it's turning me off to it that she keeps doing that.
She LOVED these "Outlander" books by Diana Gabaldon and INSISTED that I read the first one because they are the most wonderful books to have ever been written and she just knew I'd fall in love and have to read all 8 thousand of them, but I got two pages into it and had to stop. It was historical fiction romance. Gross, what the hell, Mom?
Now I'm afraid I won't like Cloud Atlas because she has a bad track record and is putting pressure on me to read it like NOW.
Now that I have a tablet, I can FINALLY READ ALL THE AWESOME SHIT YOU'VE EMAILED ME!
I'm THAT many bold caps worth excited about this.
I mean, I guess I could've read it on the computer but the only computers I use lately are library computers and my parents' one in the living room. And physically incapable of spending hours reading the same thing when that thing is not being held in my hand. It's a condition.
You can start with Las travesuras de la nina mala.
I still haven't read all those books you sent me. It's too hard to keep track of what page i left off of on the computer.
Also I started reading Broken Piano for President. So far it reads kinda douchey for me but I have a feeling I'm gonna enjoy where it ends up.
When I read on the computer, I just rename the file, adding the page number to the tile.
Number typing? What are we, mathematicians?
Okay, my Kindle's all charged now. Let the Rowling extravaganza begin!
I was reading some other stuff but then Half Blood Prince was calling to me...
So now I am pulled into that despite my commitment to focus on books I have not yet read...
I forgot how awesome Severus Snape was, I didn't really forget, I knew, but now I know again, better.
I fucking adored that character from the very beginning.
The ending was only perfect complete validation.
I'm reading Lucy Comet in Moominland by Tove Jansson. I want to get my hands on more Moomintroll books.
Snape was the best character.
I like The Casual Vacancy so far, I'm pretty curious where everything is heading.
I do the exact same thing.

I only have book one
I need them all!!! Oh wait I bought this one too

So I guess I need 3 more.
Whoever is my Secret Santa better pay attention!
