Blood's a Rover by James Ellroy

it's finally on amazon and it's out in september. i'm currently re-reading the first 2 books from the american underworld trilogy, 'american tabloid' and 'the cold six thousand' to catch up. if you don't know about them, you're missing out on an epic and paranoid and ultraviolent foray into modern american mythology. james ellroy fucked my world up.

anyway, no pete bondurant this time, which disappoints me, he's always been my favorite ellroy character. i'm sure he's in the book, just not a main story arc.
