I've read (and really liked) Hairstyles, and I'm currently reading Boy Detective. His bio says he teaches creative writing in some college, and all I know is, I'd love to be in his class.

I just finished Haristyles of the Damned about a week ago. I thought it was really great. I think he writes in really good voices, you know? I picked it up because I've been reading a lot of rock music books lately, but now I really want to get Boy Detective.

Man, I would love to check him out... really great titles:) ... but I really doubt any of them are available in Norway, though Sad and it would cost to much in shipping to order from amazon...
just to illustrate how long it might take for me to get a book here... I ordered Black Box by Nick Walker through a book store... I ordered it January 13th, and still haven`t got it !!

Shouts!

You go to Columbia? Sara Faye and TheJudasCow go there too.

I love Hairstyles of the Damned! I've read it about 60 times. Probably the best book I've ever read about being a kid in the 90's, although I really wasn't a teenager until 1997.

That's where my mom went to school.
I guess you've probably been to Haunted Trails. I don't live in the area, but we used to visit when I was a kid. It was a trip to read about all that stuff in Hairstyles. It's kind of a great suburban CHicago book.
I just picked up The Bluebirds Used to Croon in the Choir. Great so far.

I read hairstyles back in late '04 and I thought it was a great book. Since then I have read just about everything but Tender as hellfire. Eagerly awaiting it's re-release on April 1...haven't heard anything official but that's what Amazon says and we all know we can trust Amazon!

Joe Meno is a pretty cool dude I'd say.

The Boy Detective Fails was a wonderful book. I'm thinking about picking up another Meno novel, although none of the other plots seem interesting to me. The short story collection may be the one for me.

I would do it. The stories are strange but sweet.

P.S. The Bradley Sands?

Yep, although there's a police chief in the Bahamas and a lawyer fella who probably wouldn't hesitate to put an italicized 'the' in front of my name too.

I read How the Hula Girl Sings, and I thought it was pretty solid. Definitely good, but not great, but certainly worth reading.
