Anybody?
Today I got my book list for next year, and I've never read any of the books I'll be studying for my Literature class:
Patron Saint Of Eels, by Gregory Day
Regeneration, by Pat Barker
Hotel Sorrento, by Hannie Rayson
Hunting The Wild Pineapple, by Thea Astley
I was wondering if anybody has read/heard of any of these, and whether they are good or bad, etc. I'll be buying them in a couple of weeks and attempting to get them all read before I go back to school in February.
Regeneration is supposed to be excellent. It's about the famous war poets of World War One (Sassoon, Owen). There's a pretty decent Brit film version, should you be interested (which has Jonathan Pryce in it - always a good sign).
I have no idea of those four books. Check out Amazon and see if there are any reviews. Let us know what you think of them.
That's so weird. The books WE got assigned for lit are like... Hamlet, something Margaret Atwood, etc...the same as we get assigned in regular English, basically. It's crap!
I've never heard of any of them before either. I'm really curious now, though, so be sure to let us know how they are.

sorry, i'm new to this site. can some1 tell me how to start a forum. pleaseeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee.

I'm kind of scared to see what thread he's going to start.

I've never heard of any of those books or the authors before. Be sure to report back on how they were.
