Any Andrew Vachss fans out there? I was just curious to see what others thought of him finally ending the Burke series. I know I'll miss Burke but it's about time for him to go, he must be nearly seventy by now, not a great age for a badass.

I really like Vachss. I haven't read anything from the Burke series yet though. I do own the first two or three books in the series - just haven't gotten around to them. I have read Stella and The Getaway Driver and I really enjoyed them both. I love his style.

I love both of those books too. If you get the chance, pick up Two Trains Running, it's probably his best work to date. Burke's hardcore, read them in order if you can, it really runs better.

did this guy used to do some stuff for Sandman? the name sounds familiar but I can't place where I've heard it before.

We've talked about him here before. He's had his runs of people who love him and hate him at the cult. And a long time ago (like the first time we revived the book club) we read Stella.

He wrote the Batman Ultimate Evil graphic novel and did a Predator. Gaiman may have been involved with the Batman, I know their friends, I don't remember, haven't read them. OOP and pricey as fuck.
