I was thinking about picking this book up, but don't really know much about it. Anyone here read it? Think it's worth it?

I thought it was really good.  After about the first hundred pages or so it really becomes hard to put down.  It's got a fair amount of nice historical background in it, tracking such things as the evolution of the comic book industry from its infancy, and, to a certain extent, the effects world war II has on america and, especially, on american immigrants; but it never forgets about the characters along the way, and the story is quite compelling.

Or something like that. Anyway, I think it's worth checking out.

One of my favorites!

Incidentally, I went to college with Chabon's little brother. Great guy.
