Action-packed, bone poppin books filled with thrilling fight scenes?
Most of the books on the market today are a tad bit too "artsy". I was reading the review for the book "The Way Of Shadows" by Brent Weeks:
http://www.amazon.com/review/RGTZMMC1AF05M/ref=cm_cr_dp_cmt?ie=UTF8&ASIN...
It mentions the author is really skilled in describing the action sequences, it reads like a Hollywood film.
Do you guys know of any intense thriller books? Something filled with action, fights, keeping me on the edge!

This is why we can't have nice things.
Er, wait. I meant to second Ellroy.
This is why we can't have nice things.

The Warded Man by Peter V Brett.
You should all take a break from your possible transgressive fiction asphyxiation and read a good fantasy book

EXACTLY my point. all my books in my reading list are recommended by people from the cult. And the cultists love love love transgressive fiction. I want to to take a break from narrators with huge emotional problems and identity issues. Just a simple plot with violence and fighting, with the typical good vs. evil storyline.
Any other good fantasy books?

His Dark Materials Trilogy by Philip Pullman. AMAZING! I'm about to finish the 2nd book, and they're is definitely enough action to keep you hooked, but it puts in things that keep you intellectually engaged as well. The Golden Compass is the first book in the series.
The Rogue Warrior Series
Elantris by Brandon Sanderson
Carter Beats the Devil by Glen David Gold
Altered Carbon, by Richard K. Morgan. Cyberpunk-noir, and Phillip K. Dick winning novel. 500 years into the future we discover Martian technology that enables us to digitally store our consciousness in a "stack" the size of a Bic lighter at the top of our spinal columns. If we die, it's not a Real Death as long as the stack is retrieved because you can have your soul downloaded into a new "sleeve" or body.
As a result of this availability of new bodies, the violence (extremely graphic, giving new meaning to Chuck's essay on going to the body) doled out by the characters is matter-of-fact.
There is a passage in the book about a week long torture the protagonist suffers in virtual reality (far more effective than real body torture) that nearly leaves him an emotionally broken invalid.
The novel is an outstanding new take on cyberpunk with the gritty realism of a Jim Thompson noir.
I haven't read it yet - but I have read parts...
But I can't believe that nobody has mentioned The Fighter by Craig Davidson
I'll third Ellroy, he's the most violent writer i know. Also, Battle Royale was pretty action packed. There's this book called 'Run' by Douglas Winter. It's about gun runners if i remember right, well-written action in that one. Look up John Ridley, some of his books are pretty violent.
Good call.
The Lies of Locke Lamora, by Scott Lynch.
The Lies of Locke Lamora is a fantasy novel by Scott Lynch. It follows the adventures of a group of con artists known as the Gentlemen Bastards. They live in a city called Camorr, heavily based on late medieval Venice. The book is divided into two interspersed stories. In the present time, the Gentlemen Bastards must contend with the Grey King, a powerful figure terrorizing Camorr's criminal community. Every other chapter, however, delves into the history and mythology of Camorr, the Gentlemen Bastards, and especially the protagonist Locke Lamora.
There's a lot of battling for this and that, and a good deal of brutal violence.
I keep reading this thread title as "bone pooping" and then I think, "Ow."

If you haven't read him, I suggest anything by Christopher Moore. Not in regards to your original query, but to breaking from transgressive for a read or two. By genre, he writes comic fantasy, but it is a million times more exciting than it sounds.
I can't think of any action packed novels though, I just keep thinking of the walk-in refrigerator scene in Beat the Reaper.
"There’s no use in denying it: this has been a bad week. I’ve started drinking my own urine." -Patrick Bateman
Elmore Leonard?
Nah, he's a pansy.
On the other hand, Richard Stark isn't half bad with action scenes.

that last chapter of Beat the Reaper was pretty intense!!

the man speaks the truth. it went too fast though.
Yeah I was really shocked when it happened. I was like - shouldn't there be another page before that happens. There wasn't even any ... I don't want to say more for fear of spoiling. But yeah, it just needed a little bit more there at the end.
totes.
ps. take it to the reaper thread you pansies.

"The Never Enders" by Michael Sonbert
Lots o' violence in that one.
