your old folks back in their day
I was hunting in my mum's photo albums for some of my baby photos for that Cult Baby thread and found an album full of old photos of my mother from the 1950s till the 70s.
Its been amazing seeing these for the first time. My mother doesnt talk much at all about her child/young-adult-hood and it just made me so happy to find these.
Here's my mum with me 10 months ago at 62

and here she is in 1967. I've never seen her like that.

Here she is on the last day of collage in 1961 doing emo shots and fooling around with who I guess was her boyfriend.

I dunno if it'll be as fun for you guys to dig up old photos of your folks when they were young, before you turned them into old folks. But that is what we're doing in this thread.
Plus its a good excuse to talk to your mother. Because I KNOW you havent rung her lately!
PPS: the more retro looking, the funnier

This sucks! I'm not at home so I can't get to the pictures of my mum and dad in the eighties.
I have a photo of them sitting on a brown stiped sofa at Christmas, mum has an amazingly voluminous perm and my dad had a big mustache and a giant floppy fringe on one side. They are both wearing the cosby sweaters of the day.
My parents were punks back in the late seventies, early eighties. My mum shaved her head and my dad died his hair, he used to work on cranes and was the only one easily identifyable when he was working. They still have this great pair of tartan trousers that my dad used to wear. They're green and red tartan and have zips and buckles all down the side. Bondage trousers they were called, but I don't like using that word in association with my parents. I used to wear them for fancy dress but alas, I have outgrown my dad and they're now too small for me.
!
Oh yeah, and maybe I'm being crazy or stupid, but don't you think that the guy in Browns new avatar looks a little like FJ?
!

Yes you are crazy.
Brown: What the heck are you doing? New avatar. *shakes head*
Yes you are crazy.

I'm doodling. Every different avatar is a temporary one from my normal one.

No, but but, the hair and the lips. If FJ were more tanned and had more stubble and was wearing some sunglasses and was in that exact same pose, he would look exactly the same. Then again, so would you probably.
!
That reminds me, I'll have to do my mustache.
Tenner says you get to keep the mustache.
Sorry for hijacking your thread with talk of avatars and mustaches, FJ. Please take this photo of my maternal grandparents in the 1950s as penance. My Grandad was a self-described Teddy Boy and my Nana was...a girl...she wore nice dresses and worked in a factory and went out dancing every night. They got to see Eddie Cochran singing his songs when he played in our city.

Yeah FJ. Sorry bout the hijacking, I will return with pics soon.
P.S. Ven, yer grandad looked a bit like that guy from AMERICAN PIE, the one that gets to do Stifler's mom.

Woah, he does!
I bet yer grammie was really pissed of that he was pulling a funny face in that one.

It doesn't matter, it was one of those photo booths where you get four different shots. I think it was the day they got engaged.
I have no photos of my family. I have two photos of different ex-girlfriends, a couple of my bedroom at home, one of my cat, a few of me with curtains and thats about it.
!
this is a great idea, i will post pics when i find a fricken scanner that works.
Since coming back home, I've been digging through all the old photos, and the one's of my folks amaze me the most...they just seems so, I don't know.

Those pics are superb.

Eventhough my mom is very religious, I'm glad she wasn't raised and didn't raise us in a conservative fashion. I mean, for most Turkish folks in Holland, we were considered very liberal.
Damn, your dad's pimpin it out at their wedding. Check out that suit. And your mom is really pretty.
There is hope, but not for us.
Man your dad looks cool.
All of these parental photos are just wonderful.
Mr. B, I can see you in your mom's face in the wedding photo. She's got a great pair of gams, too.
A Vendetta production. <3

They do look a bit strange actually, very well defined...almost as if the photo was edited to remove red eye or something. Well, now we know where you get it from.

Is your dad a writer? he looks like one. Or anything creative. Even a doctor. Just dont tell me his an accountant or something. Its just not the right look for an accountant.
This is in Guadalajara. My dad is the dude in the pink shirt.

I don't know what the hell he's wearing but he was already living in the US for quite some time when this picture was taken.

My mom drew over her eyes cause they were closed. I've not a clue who the faggish looking kid on the floor is.

Great idea FJ. I have some killer oldie pics of my folks. Dad looked like Serpico and mom was a stylish cutie. Will post when I get the chance.
