I had a twitter and I forgot about it for about six or eight months, and then I found out that when I publish a new blog post I can make it ... tweet? or whatever, announce it on twitter.

That's pretty much all I use it for. So if you want my shameless self-promotions in your twitter.. or on your twitter... every week or so....
