What'd Santa Bring Ya?
Under the tree this morning I found a few more things than expected with my name on them. I wasn't expecting anything as James and I agreed not to get each other gifts because of surprise other expenses we have had this month.
For me there was, all wrapped up pretty:
- Original artwork by Zachariah and Lily.
- A pair of costume earrings, bought at our corner market, from Trevor, Zachariah and Lily
- A throw pillow that say's LOVE, that used to live on Lily's bed, from Lily
- A little smurf figurine Lily stole from me a year ago, from Lily
- A set of nice graphite and charcoal pencils I gave Zachariah for Xmas last year and he never used, from Zachariah
- A copy of Haunted, from Gabriel
- and a table top easel and canvasses from James (the rule breaker!)
So what did Santa bring you this 2012 Christmas?
Cran grapejuice full of vodka!

I got lots of awesome stuff!
My older sister got me a framed picture of she and my other sister and I, a pair of earrings, The Fault in Our Stars, and an amazon gift card.
My little sister got me a box of 200 packets of honey and a necklace.
My godfather got me an amazon gift card.
My mother gave me some blu rays: The Barman Trilogy, The Hunger Games, and The Princess Bride, two books of stencils, some makeup stuff, some Grace's Best Sunflower Seed Cookies, an amazon gift card and a very generous check.
I'm thrilled with everything and even though I didn't get The Walking Dead books I got plenty of gift cards and I all ready ordered the first one!
"I'm glad I live in the GPS era. In a different century, I would've set off to visit the other side of the village and wandered off into the mountains and been eaten by a carnivorous plant. Or discovered the Americas."
-LaJessica
I'm reposting the pics in the respective thread, because I didn't get any more gifts aside from what I bought myself. It was the first year ever that they gave me money and not went shopping with me or even buying stuff.
So.. sweater, t-shirt. I cheated and wore the sweater when I met Alex, it's really comfortable and soft.

fine bone china mug, tea, glass balls for my tree, philosophy book (The Trilogy of Culture)

My Lady and Orange & Cactus Fig are both awesome. I tried them today. Elfentau is one of the first fancy teas I've tasted, so I know what it's like.
And earrings

Bonus this morning:

Pistachio-filled truffles, German chocolates (left), special edition crunchy almond Toblerone, and the rest is obvious. And a Kinder Surprise which I already ate. Which looks like this
My toy was a Yoda on a string and we put it in the tree.
And this book, Oscar and the Lady in Pink. I haven't read it, I only saw the play and the movie, it's about a boy with leukemia who writes letters to God, who falls in love with Peggy Blue, whom he decides to protect against ghosts, and finally goes to sleep with a note by his side, saying "Only God has the right to wake me up."

I cried when I saw the play, and I'm sure reading the book will be difficult, and obviously given the circumstances I'll postpone reading it as much as possible. Mum and my sister already read it and loved it. Even mum, who hates sad books, said it was "invigorating" and "beautiful".
I WANT KINDER EGGS, They are my favorite thing ever but you cant get them in the states at all.
As your attorney, my advise to you is to start drinking heavily(er).-Tuffy
I know, they're banned. Silly Americans.

I really do love those earrings Irina.
I forgot, probably because I have known about it for weeks, my grandma got us a years family pass to the Portland Zoo, and a years pass to OMSI (oregon museum of science and industry) I'm really excited about both.
Melody, you will LOVE The Fault in Our Stars. I have a signed copy that I got the day after it came out.
I got my tablet, an iTunes gift card, and a soon-to-be-arriving international debit card with some moolah on it.
Some other stuff too that I haven't gotten yet but is in another box that needs to be picked up.
I posted this in the Xmas Thread but..
I got:
Dark Knight Rises on Bluray
Some White Stripes 45 records that I listened to but now intend to frame.
And an iPhone 4S (my current phone suuuuuuuuuucks)
I only asked for the movie because my parents are already paying for new tires on my new car I bought. Plus the sales tax on the license plate for it. Good day.
I love pepper's Smurf and the copy of 'Haunted'.
And Irina's Fin Carre Chocolate bar with the whole hazelnuts looks delish.
Good thinking to Mike about framing the 45's. More importantly keep them at the right temperature, or they will warp.

This would be a complete Christmas for me = 1. Edie Sedgwick NARS set / Silver NARS eyeshadow pencil
btw, those knock off Uggs were used. But I still love them.
roseate, you are blessed. I pray that you take all the opportunities and stay truly fulfilled, and not that immediate gratification stuff.
Enjoy that loot Santa left you.
You must have been a good girl, somehow, this year.
They're so freaking nice I don't even want to use them because they're so beautiful. (I will though)
I always make out like a bandit on holidays because I'm the only kid.
Guy's my sister spoiled the hell out of me. She gave me so much awesome stuff and each thing was better than the last. I can't even list it all.
The best things (but there was so much more too) were monkey see no evil hear no evil speak no evil candles, a small round jewelry box with green man face hidden in the leaf pattern, two beautiful bracelets and the bestest bestest of all a large pin (I collect awesome pins) that says
NOT
WEARING
UNDERWEAR
(I'm wearing the pin right now, it may or may not be a lie)
My mom also brought me all kinds of goodies, candles and incense and an old metal campground sign she found long ago in the shape of an upside down triangle and a picture of a bear on it on both sides and on one side it says OCCUPIED and the other RESERVED. and other things.
Also a great new black hoodie from my father in law.
Santa kept coming all day long when I didn't expect to get much myself this year at all.
I'm putting the bear sign on my bathroom door.
This room is either occupied or reserved, all the rest of you can go away and go use a bush out back!
Everyone seems to have had a great Christmas
I did as well. My computer is acting a little Zonky tonight, so I can't post pics. But will when I can. ESPECIALLY in the Secret Santa Thread, pics of my Awesome package from Don (DBDurden)!
Anyways, here's my gifts.
1. A pair of black Ugg Boots, with a creme colored fur on inside and two silver buckles on the sides. (I've been wanting them since I seen them two years ago) These were from the Hubby.
2. My Mom gave me some Fiesta Ware Dishes, which we have been collecting over the years and have decided to go with all the colors, to have a rainbow of dishes. She gave us a Turquoise Casserole dish and 2 Turquoise Serving Bowls.
3. Gift Cards $25 to Home Depot, $25 to Olive Garden, $25 to Outback and $25 to Red Lobster.
4. Peppermint Bark scented candle
5. Cream Pumpkin scented hand sanitizer from Bath and Body that sits inside a rubber puppy dog that you can put around your purse strap.
6. Pink Kitty Cat fingernail file
7. Butterfly Pin (for scarf, coat or sweater) costume style with black stones and fake diamonds
8. Frog Pin (same as above) Gold with green stones
9. Stretchy Bracelet, costume style, black stones and fake diamonds
10. Also a necklace and earring set that are silver, with turquoise and othe cool colored stones. I think I'll be able to wear it with a lot of different things.
I had a lovely Christmas with such awesome gifts. Even though it's NOT about that, it sure is fun getting and giving them.
Whatever Whore!
I love how Enough has all that sweet Christmas stuff and sentiment, and her sig is Whatever Whore!
You are so funny
Ha!
Whatever Whore!
As mentioned in PA I got sheets and a duvet cover from the bloke.
Lucy got me (or, I got myself) a spatula and pastry brush and a key holder.
Bloke's folks got me a "curry kit". They collected a whole bunch of packets of spices and seeds for cooking curries and a curry cookbook. That was a really sweet and thoughtful gift. Bloke's dad has been giving me recipes over the year and I've been trying them out. We've really bonded over it. Actually I've become really close to the in-laws. I love those guys.
The folks/siblings gave me more sheets, a necklace holder, chocolate covered macadamias, a bracelet and a candle holder.
Other stuff was lip gloss and nail polish, a book about Wellington written by different NZ authors. I think that's it.
Lucy got LOADS of stuff. I got to open heaps of pressies on her behalf. That was fun.
Curry! Yummmm! I'm a fan.
Don't forget to post pics of those delicious stews. Curry is made from the heart.
Lucy is a lucky baby.
I have also used the liver and kidneys.
Highly recommended.
This is why we can't have nice things.
I want curry. But maybe just on some basmati rice and veggies. None of this weird meat items.
Made out pretty well - got a lot of giftcards and cash which I am fine with... but most of all this:

Preetty!
This is why we can't have nice things.
I love the ring, Lily side profile and of course CURRY!
I know you've all been dying to know what the big present was from under my Christmas tree. It wasn't a severed head after all, it was:

*PS yes, you can now all mock me for having to Google "how to do print screen on a Mac"...
That's so British! Cute.. do you sew a lot?
My mum bought it for me so I could keep all my crafts materials in one place. To be honest I only dabble. I had a fleeting interest in cross-stitch and embroidery. The latter I'd like to have a proper go at, but I really have far too many hobbies!
Do you sew? I wish I could make my own clothes
I like that sewing basket a lot Hattie. And Kits ring is spectacular.
I used to love cross-stitching. I still do, but I haven't made anything in a few years. I found some Alphonse Mucha patterns online, but I have to make sure they come with the threads and stick my hand very deep into my pocket for those.
I wish I could knit so I wouldn't have to spend a fortune on cosy warm sweaters every winter.
I retaught myself how to knit a while back and the gave it up as soon as I had the basics down.
I should give it a go again and persevere this time. I'm so terrible about giving things up as soon as I know I can do them. Like just the knowledge that I could or can is enough and then I get distracted by something new.
Do you sew? I wish I could make my own clothes
I used to sew a bit back in highschool, made a few bags, skirts and simple things like that. Also did a bit of cross stitch, but not for years and years. Became more interested in art things, and cooking instead. If I had a sewing machine I might do more.
A shirt, two sweaters, two books, Skyward Sword (finally, but I'm gonna have to buy the motion plus), Brave, and a 50 dollar B&N gift card.
Si vis pacem, para bellum

That's cool that you made practical stuff! It would be great to have a sewing machine.
I am not at all interested in knitting as I am not a perfectionist and knitted stuff looks rubbish if you make mistakes.
Boots and whiskey. I really needed boots, mine were ripped apart.
Boots and whiskey seem like good names for a pair of cats.
Hattie- But did you check inside it yet? More telling, is it leaking?

_kit, that ring is fantastic!
Looks like something from Titanic movie.
That ring is lovely!
Cute sewing kit too.
The ring is a Beauty Kit and Hattie I'm so jealous of your sewing basket. I have a machine and I do sew. I'm on an apron kick right now.
Whatever Whore!
That ring is absolutely stunning _kit!!
Boots And Whiskey was my nickname in highschool.
This is why we can't have nice things.
I'll probably be getting a few presents this weekend, when we go visit Pål Martin's parents. I haven't gotten anything other than the Barb and Ludwig package (<3) so far, because we don't celebrate Christmas with presents in The Netherlands.
Kit, that ring is beautiful.
What? No presents at Christmas in the Netherlands?? WHAT DO YOU DOOOOOOOO???
I shouldn't have said that. A lot of people in The Netherlands do give presents for Christmas, but our family (and many others I know) don't. The fact that we have an additional holiday (Sinterklaas) earlier in the month probably has something to do with that.
ahhh, okay, I see. Makes sense. Yeah, we just pushed Sinterklaas all the way to Christmas.

I suppose we need pictures, Amber
