I noticed one of those clips was from the Power Rangers movie.

I was never into Thunder Cats though. I'll be skipping the movie. I only saw Transformers because it was free. Never grew up with them either.

I didn't grow up with Transformers and I still haven't watched any of the movies. I didn't grow up with Thundercats either but I watched them back when I was living in San Diego and I enjoyed the series.

Hahaha, I get it. It's a no, though. The square root of beer =/= beer... unless beer=1... but beer never equals one. It's always like 6 or 18.

Take this. The questions are weird, but the result is pretty accurate.
Mine is: Handy in the real world manipulation of objects and events, you are easily enthused by practical projects. You often ignore or conveniently forget rules and boundaries that limit your freedom. This need for freedom extends even to the personal sphere and though you are kind and gentle, you will often be hard to pin down to a monogamous lifestyle. Because you tend to verbalize so seldom, you can be seen as phlegmatic or impassive. In moments of high tension you can often surprise those around you with a lighthearted or humorous remark. Because of your facility with the physical world, you are often engaged in sports that require dexterity, such as motorcycling or hang gliding. You will rarely have time for flights of fancy or unproductive discussion. Constraints on your freedom will be regarded as a personal attack.

I lost my patience quite quickly on this, so I resorted to just picking whatever option but...

My diagnosis:
Verbally and mentally fluid, you are refreshing and illuminating to those around you. This is occasionally somewhat discounted by the obvious pleasure that you take in exercising your mental acuity. Although generally peaceful you can often take a verbally aggressive tact in relations with the world, which can often be misunderstood by those around you. Innovative in the extreme, you can often think yourself right out of the correct answer to a given problem. Many times you are referred to as your own worst enemy. You tire very quickly of routine and so make poor clerks or administrative help. You also have no respect for authority and little patience for those you regard as inferior, most especially those in charge. Experimentation is your watchword and can occasionally lead to experience for its own sake and shallow decadence. Your thought can sometimes be scattered and disconnected.

Sounds about right. Wink

Irina's link,

My results:

Though quiet on the outside, you are often the hidden hero; someone who rushes in when needed and then after the emergency is over fades back into the woodwork. Because of this sense of duty and honor, you can also on occasion be rigid in your viewpoint and unyielding in the face of other ways of thinking. Usually cynical and rarely trusting of others, you maintain a small set of intimate friends. These bonds are stronger than most. You are always grounded in the present moment. Your close bonds can also lead to clique-ishness and a tendency to gossip about those who are deemed less worthy. You are an integrative thinker, collecting data from a wide range of sources and applying it to your worldview. You can become overly task-oriented. In stressful situations you often withdraw from the world to seek peace in contemplation. You often seem cold and withdrawn. Often you will withdraw rather than verbalize your discontent.

That is kind of freaky and weird. I wouldn't call myself "hero", but I do tend to rush in and deal with those I loves problems and then disappear again as soon as possible.

I'd say a good third of my results are completely off base. But the other two thirds are so accurate it isn't noticed that it isn't all correct at first. Overly task oriented? That is not well defined enough to be true. If the task is mundane bullshit I avoid it completely, if the task is part of whatever the heck my "bigger plan" at the moment is then yeah. A little too focused. And does it really count as gossip if it is only being said to those you consider a confidant? My close girlfriend isn't going to repeat what I say, and neither I her, therefore it isn't gossip. Phooey.

Forer Effect. Come on people! Read the guy's blog. He pretty much admits it's B.S.

Though I did find the questions and pictures pretty interesting.

That is sort of what I said. But also, you can't apply that to everything, otherwise you would have to discredit everything that has every been learned about human psychology, including the the idea that people can be fooled by a cold reading.

I haven't been convinced of Astrology, Mysticism, Mind Reading, Fortune Telling, Tarot Reading, Tea Leaf Reading, or any of that yet. Is my mind open to it? Yes! I want to believe that there are people that can do these things. But I haven't seen proof yet.

edit:

Just like I haven't seen proof of ghosts or aliens, though I want to believe.

The thing that strikes me the most about these things is how many people talk about Astrology and Horoscopes and how accurate and how much they believe in that stuff. But then go around saying how dumb people are for believing in a God or having a religion. That wasn't directed at anybody here really, just a general observation.

I wouldn't call any of the things you listed psychology, in the sense that psychology can be seen as a science that can be studied, but perhaps psychological in the sense that one can be mentally affected and manipulated by those things and that tendency can be studied.

I found the results I got particularly interesting for me however, because of the amount of emphasis it put on my purposeful isolation and withdrawal of myself from other people. That isn't a very flattering thing to have said about one, most people wouldn't look at that result and feel all complimented and say how true it was about themselves (which is where most readings like this hold the most weight, in the way they flatter the person into not noticing it isn't accurate) I don't feel complimented by being told I am too closed up, but I sort of am just as a fact and am mostly okay with it.

Anyway, what sort of whatever is this based on irina? Is it an actual study of something real or is it just nonsense someone made up?

Answering the questions at random this was the result, which i do not relate to at all:

Always happy in a crowd, you love to converse, to relate, and above all to have fun. You tend to think in a more holistic manner than many others. Like a crow you are attracted to shiny objects, new ideas, playful exciting colors and the thrill of a new personal relationship. You love to talk or gossip. You are highly invested in the reality of day-to-day life. Practicality is far more important than issues of honor or allegiance. You are a creature of the here and now. You are a natural multi-tasker, often switching mid-thought from one duty to another. You have a flair for presenting your personality in your work, and are known as a great storyteller and natural actor. You are very skilled at taking in a barrage of information and distilling what is most important from it. Naturally charming, you are quick to win new friends. Over stimulation is a danger.

You have a poetic sensibility and an ability to see beyond the day to day. You often seem to be living in a higher realm, or to be not-of-this-earth. Occasionally you imagine interior lives for friends and associates that are near-complete fabrications based on your fears or hopes for the future. You are often not aware of your own feelings. You have a strong sense of right and wrong, and because of this are often disappointed. Despite what can sometimes be a destructive inward-turning anger, you are very gentle. You are sometimes a bit out of touch with the ebb and flow of modern life. If your behavior is out of synch with your moral values, a severe psychic disturbance can result. Because connectivity is so important to you, you can become quiet and sulky if you feel that others around do not understand your point of view.

That is totally me.

Rather accurate :
Thoughtful to the extreme, you are often obsessed with perfection and the rules governing your own personal interests. Your world is black and white. You love to work within a logical system, such as language, computer programming, or mathematics. Manipulating a system that can be completely understood is a distinct pleasure to you, because of your confidence in the underlying veracity of your belief system. Because of your appreciation for logic and order, those who speak or think in a sloppy manner are apt to generate more than their share of wrath. Although very amiable, you are not drawn to friendships out of a sense of personal need. You are just as happy by yourself with a good book or puzzle. Because you are so involved with thought, you will on occasion have difficulty dealing with the day-to-day problems of a normal life. Taking out the trash, doing the dishes, these are often left until the last possible moment, if at all.

Same, but not very accurate for me. I'm more artistic than mathematical. I'm miserable alone. I consider myself rather logical, but other than that...no.

Maybe. Probably not quite. One of the many odd characters from my childhood.

He walks around downtown Eugene selling joke books he wrote. I still have a couple of his books. He he is exactly as I remember him even though it has been 20+ years. I remember he used to lay on the living room floor in our house watching foot ball and farting. He would refuse to leave the room or excuse himself if he farted on a matter of principle- it was a natural body function and nothing to be ashamed of.

He lived in his box van in the back. All growing up we had all kinds of random oddballs, loners, hippies, weirdos, hobos and wanders passing through our house. Staying for a month, staying for six months. living on the living room floor, or in the garage or in a bus or van in the yard. Some would leave and come back a year later. Often my mom would have trouble getting rid of people, friends she made and they would stay way longer than she wanted. Once we even moved because they took over our house first taking one room then another then another until we were living in our bus in the back only using the bathroom in the house. But a lot of times they would leave without staying too long.

There was Wolf, who was an ex-biker and liked to tell stories of watching girls get fucked by donkeys down in mexico. And Champa, who looked like a fat paranoid hobbit but who always wore about a dozen thick wool sweaters, when he peeled off the layers he was probably only a hundred pounds under all of it. Tie-dye mike filled our garage with his buckets full of clothing he was tie-dyeing to sell and Sequoia was a Jamaican with long dreads who claimed to work for a government agency so secret no body had heard of it, they would call him "on assignment" ever couple of years and lived in some sort of delusional fear of getting those calls. Monkey king was this shaky skinny old guy with red hair that I can only describe as the living walking talking human version of Rafiki from the Lion King, when he wearied of standing he would sit on his cane with the handle going right up his crack. To name just a few.

This is Frog. He sells Joke books.

I still have some of his books.
