When Chuy moved to California, I inherited his turtle. He likes to eat dandelions when I don't have collard greens to feed him. He is a ghetto turtle. If you look close you can see his tiny tear drop tattoo by his right eye.

If you let turtles or tortoises roam around outdoors, watch out for sprinkler pipes and anything else they can wedge themselves into. They think they can fit.
This also applies to snakes and cash registers.
Unless your shelled friend is quite large, it is A Very Bad Idea to let him or her roam unsupervised anyway.
