Individuality is bullshit. Well at least this faux individuality you see all over highschools is. If you are 18 and still feel the need to dress like Marylin Manson you are a loser. Grow up and mature. Rebellious at 18 is laughable and no longer shocking.

I just finished 4 years of wearing a uniform to school along with 4 years of hearing all the fucking "rebels" complain about how "conformist" they have to dress. Fuck that. TSB, you said it best. If you need to dress in such a way that you reach out from the shaddows and rape people's attention, then you're not really a rebel. Trying to be original is the most conformist thing to do.

The only problem I had with my school's dress code was that they didn't allow any facial hair. And that was only a problem cos I'm lazy and fuck shaving... Blah, I never had much facial hair in high school anyhow, but they made me shave anyway. Damn bastards trying to de-lazy me. =\

Yeah. My high school cared way too much about image... to the point where they "suggested" to a friend of mine that he delete a website he had worked soooo hard on, because it had some "questionable content."

hey, they wanna fuck around with uniforms etc go ahead. sure i'll be a bit pissed cause well i'll be honest. some of my best wood-day-dreams have come during class from thsoe sexy girls and their revealing clothes. now i dont like the whore clothes as in the fucking shit that all the grade 9ers where. but the older girls, they can make nayhting look presentable, and naughty-sexy at the same time. so i guess i would be pissed at uniforms. as for the "individuality" crap, well its only an excuse to cover up "well its where i get my masturbating fantasies from". but facial hair? i personally think thats growing too far. as long as its growing on you, they dont have any control over it....hmm that sounds like a good idea for fungui wear.

Ya our school was pretty strict for a non-uniform school.

No facial hair. No piercings at all for guys and only ears for chicks. No dyed hair. Hrm, I never really got in trouble for anything except the facial hair thing... It sure did make everyone at our school look a lot younger than the people at other schools. *shrug*

The whole idea of the facial hair is they're trying to make you look like you're in the business world. Now, personally, I've never seen women in the business world go to work in knee-highs and a pleated skirt... so it kinda only applies to us guys... but I guess what they're getting at is you can't have some half-assed scruffy beard when you're at work. Assuming you're working side-by-side with fram and the likes of them.

if i were in the business world, while at school.

my business suit would be a t-shirt with my beer gut hang inog out most of the time, hair thats too long for its own good, but short enough not to be conisderred wrestiling long. my choice of cologne febreeze. hey man, that shit works good. got it from my bud kyle after his football game. the stuff passes of as primo cologne so good (i might try windex as aftershave). and my choice of business fanance words. chuckles at jokes that only stoners or people who've hung around me too long would get.

Oh, I know, shaven looks better, especially if you're at that stage where you can't really grow a beard or anything yet. However, I'm lazy. So fuck you. But yeah, I shave regularly now, so I guess it caught on. Damn the system.

Beards are only cool if you're a crazy English teacher.

I had to wear a suit in highschool but that was about it, it wasn't that bad. We may have looked mature but when you're in an all boys school it basically becomes a frathouse.

I am 16 and I have a thin beard since like disx its easier not to shave if you do not have to. Also, any italian kids I have known could grow a beard when they were 13.

yeh we have to wear uniform, it's alright - black skirt or trousers, white shirt, avril lavigne-ish tie (red and black stripey), and a black sweatshirt with the school logo on it. BUT I CAN BURN IT ON THE 17TH!!!!!!!!AARGHHHYAYY

i don't really mind the uniform or the other rules (jewelry, make up etc) since i didn't pay attention to them, but the big fuss that was made over them was ridiculous. my school is a total shit hole, and people know it, so i really didn't see the point in sending someone out of class for having their shirt un-tucked. i once got sent to WALK AROUND THE FiELD IN THE SNOW IN MY PE KIT (which was one of those pleated skirts, tshirt and trainers) for not tying my shoes up to my stupid gay lesbian teacher's standards.

my aunt's an education psycologist, so she gets to work with lots of schools, and she said that if a school is really shit then it starts to really enforce the stupid (ie uniform) rules.

i really do think we should get to wear what we want.

apparently in UK..they have special club nights..."school ngiths" where you have to wear an uniform to get in....the trend is picking up in toronto too...maybe i should go one night..they play cool 80s songs i think..dont remember..read it int he papers

and i live right beside an artsy fartsy school and another cathloic school..and NO..those girls are annoying as hell...i avoid taking the subway around 3 or 4 just to avoid those kids

no yes they are...a woman is at her peak of fertil-ness up and until 27..that's why a lot of women suffer from depression after giving birth because their bodies have lost its resilency. from a purely scientific standpoint..now is a good time for me to have babies..but am i? hell no? our lifestyles dont permit us to have kids when we are at our early 20s even though it is the optimal time to bear children. and the messed up thing is that since our foods are injected with growth hormones...girls are growing up..and maturing physically and accelerated to a point where our bodies are lagging in the response...i mean girls are menstrating when they are 8-11 so logically their optimal time to bear kids is like 16 or something..but really is it wise to have kids at that time? stupid hormones (human intervention )is disrupting mother nature

i am well aware of that...because in the hotter tropical regions girls hit puberty earlier..i remember when i was 8..i got a call from my mom (my mom lived in taiwan while i am in TO at the time) wondering if i had started bleeding..cause it turned out that my cousin who was the same age as me..got hers... whereas i didnt get mine until grade 6..which was 3 years later

i went to catholic school, so i had to wear school uniforms. i actually didn't mind them as much as i would have thought. it was just easier to get into a routine of putting the same thing on everyday at 5:30am

DNT is right. It is incredibly easy to put on (relatively) the same thing every day. And you don't need to be worried about whether or not you look cool, because you're allll the saaaame.

yeah ..in some sense it's true..it's great not to worry about what to wear..but really..where's the individuality? i think if i had to put on an uniform i'll find clever ways to make me stand out... back in middle school..the new principle went all psycho and wanted to ban nike shirts because they say "just do it"...i mean how many people take it THAT way..in the mean time..she has the nerve to wear a low cut, back and front bearing shirt...and she's NOT a pretty sight at all

btw, although i never wore a uniform to school, i wholly support uniforms in middle and high school. in fact, i was envious of the kids that attended the uniformed schools. i felt they were a part of something larger than themselves. further, get over your sweet selves already. you're there to learn to think not win a fashion content, otherwise look into attending another school without such a policy.

i may be missing some points here, but this is generally what i believe.
