Nah, any comments are acceptable, even if you hate it say so. I really love it and it doesn't matter how many people hate it, you know? Honestly, nothing could make me hate this tattoo, I just wanna talk about it; as much as possible! Yeah I get that. He had it on his gravestone, 'Don't Try' - and I agree with the whole sentiment of that, don't try, just do, I really like the idea. I also got Charles Bukowski's name because as an author I love him, and without him I wouldn't be so sure of what I wanted to do, y'know? And he's dead now, so he can't write any books that'll make me regret getting his name tattooed there. When you love an author you love them forever.

i would have got his born on/died on dates up there. that way people in the know will see it and go ahhh! and people that don't know and ask you then get to talk about your favorite author with them.

People keep asking me who Bukowski is and I get to talk about him then anyway. If I'd had just 'Don't Try' written there I'd have been afraid of people thinking it was some awful nihilistic statement. If I'd added the 'Just Do' bit then I'd have been like a walking Nike advert,

Maybe the whole thing was a bad idea afterall! I should have had like, 'Love' on the top and 'Hate' on the bottom and claimed to be ironic!

Perhaps my next tattoo is a bad idea then - I want 'Disappear Here' on my collar bone...is that awful?
