Things You Own
What are the top five most expensive things you own?
And what are the top five most sentimental things you own?
Extra points for making a bullet list.
The things I own that ended up owning me:
- My harmonica (sentimental gift from my folks)
- My movie collection
- My 3" Tempurpedic matress
That's pretty much all I have sentimentality towards... here, anyway. Back home I'm sure I can find some other stuff. As far as expensive stuff goes:
- Jeep
- Apartment (not really owned, but whatever)
- TV
- Laptop
- 300 dollar leather jacket
Everything else is well below a hundred bucks.
Si vis pacem, para bellum
Five most expensive things(Value from when I bought them)
- Bose Computer Speakers
- Harley Davidson Leather Jacket
- Lucky Brand Leather Purse
- Converse
- 4x5ft canvas
Five most sentimental things
- An old candy tin that belonged to my great grandmother
- Great grandfather's old red suitcase
- An elephant figurine my mom gave me
- My grandfather's American flag
- A card my grandmother sent me
I'm not going to do sentimental because I can't deal with thinking about that right now. Maybe later.
Material goods owned, free & clear:
- House
- Business (until Spring anyway. The papers have already been signed.)
- Musical instruments (guitars, bass, piano, violin, drums, keyboards, microphones, mixer, amplifiers, etc.)
- Articles of clothing, collectively, various and sundry
- Books, CDs, & DVDs, collectively (several thousand)
{Items are tabulated at current resale value. Non-tangibles such at Certificates of Deposit, Savings Bonds, Stocks, 401k, etc., are not considered here.}
Not terribly exciting really. There are a lot of consumer electronics with low resale values such as outdated computers and the like. I did not consider those.
This is why we can't have nice things.
I have an antique player piano, I forget what year, about a hundred years old, with about a hundred scrolls. It is in California. I need to go get it.
My grandpa left it to me. Sentimental + probably some monetary value.
And what are the top five most sentimental things you own?
Extra points for making a bullet list.
What do you care? You hate things. You just want to picture coming into our houses and smashing it all, so I have a piano and a sixty inch plasma TV.

exp:
1. $7000 Impala
2. $300 dollar phone
3. Grandma's bequeathed 45 collection from the 50s: $250/priceless.
4. $200 laptop (i paid 470 for it)
5. T-shirt collection: i could clear 2 or 3 hundred.
hp:
1. Memories of Jessica.
2. Rocko, named after Rocko from Rocko's Modern Life because he resembles him. He's half chihuahuaha and half Shit Tsu. Coold dude.
3. Laci, even though i think she's gonna die soon. I'll try to delay it though.
4. My book collection. If it wasn't in my room, i wouldn't sleep at night.
5. My family. All 3 of them. I'd be dead if it weren't for them.
I got a stoopid expensive pair of boots, Nightrious. What size do you wear?

This is why we can't have nice things.
Citizen watch.
Most Expensive:
- A House. (Technically the bank owns most of it)
- A Car. (The bloke bought it, but it's kind of mine too)
- Furniture.
- An Opal ring that was a graduation present
- A Blue pearl necklace that was a birthday gift for my 30th
-
Most Sentimental:
- My childhood teddybear
-
- A coin collection that I started with my Granddad
-
- My Grandad's cloth cap.
- A book of fairytales from my Grandad
- The cats
Yeah, I know better.
This is why we can't have nice things.
What are the top five most expensive things you own?
-car (I don't really own it but I mean, it's mine. I split payments with my mom.)
-laptop (soon to be 2 laptops)
-a really expensive book for school
-futon
-I don't own a lot of expensive things
And what are the top five most sentimental things you own?
-a necklace made of walrus ivory with an etched in arctic lupine flower. a native alaskan artist made it (the ivory was taken after natural death)
-a stuffed bunny I've had since my first of many stretches in the hospital (since I was 2)
-my bots that berto gave me. they go everywhere with me!
-my beaten up copy of the greatest show on earth
-my cat
“if you want to be a bird,” you said once, “with colorful plumage and buoyant trills, you must also be ready for hollow bones."

11 1/2. I wouldn't wear those, though. They're designed with something other than utility in mind, which is queer.
How did you come to own so many instruments?

What do you care? You hate things. You just want to picture coming into our houses and smashing it all, so I have a piano and a sixty inch plasma TV.
You don't have a piano.
Yes, queer. Exactly the word I would use.
I bought instruments, inherited some, was simply handed others.
A girl gave me a piano because she was moving and couldn't deal with it. So, piano.
I decided a few months back I needed a violin, so, violin.
And so forth.
Musical instruments are like bits of art that you can touch and pick up and bang on and whatnot. Like guns that don't kill.
This is why we can't have nice things.
Do you think Ritt really has a piano?
I think Ritt has a piano full of cats.
Ritt doesn't own a decent cardboard box. He certainly doesn't own any durable goods.
This is why we can't have nice things.
I used to play the violin.
Expenses:
- Toyota Yaris - I know it's not a particularly cool car, but it looks good for 9 years old!
- My guitars (acoustic, electric and bass) and music equipment
- MacBook Pro
- CD and DVD collection... I don't really want to know how much this has cost
- My pretty red, retro bicycle...which I (ashamedly) hardly ever ride
Sentimental value:
- The cats
- My Mum's 21st birthday silver charm bracelet
- Deceased grandma's locket (with pictures of my Dad as a baby and my now deceased grandfather in soldier attire)
- My diaries from 1994-2006
- My christening jewellery
Expensive:
-Home
-Ford Explorer
-2 acres of land
-Black pearl ring from Hawaii that my husband bought me when he was there on work 2 years ago.
-Antique library table with claw feet on top of glass balls. (that made me laugh)
Sentimentle:
-My beagle Lily and cat Oliver
-My Grandma Ola's walking cane. She died when I was ten. Loved her so much!
-Antique platter from my other Grandma(Dad's Mom)from Poland.
-A bracelet watch from my aunt Sandy who died of lung cancer 3 years ago.
-My father inlaws knife collection who died 12 years ago.
Whatever Whore!
Most of the expensive things I own are also the most sentimental.
I have a 60 inch plasma TV that my mother bought 2 months before she died. She scrimped and saved for two years, checking the ads every week for this thing. When she finally saw it marked down to $1,600 with with a mail in rebate, she left the house for the first time in years (that weren't trips to the hospital in an ambulance) and went to buy it herself (with me and my boyfriend at the time). It's not easy to move a 300lb wheelchair bound woman down and then back up a flight of stairs. She was so happy when we set that behemoth up, though!
I have a tan microfiber recliner that was the first nice piece of furniture I ever bought for myself. All my furniture in the past were free or goodwill items and usually we didn't have enough for everyone to sit down at once, so I sat on the floor. As my kids say, it's "Mom's Chair"!
My kid's bedroom furniture also falls into this list. My kids told me exactly what they wanted. Dark wood bed frames (that can be bunk beds or not) and matching dressers and bookshelves. Looking that their empty beds reminds that they will be back with me again.
I have an solid oak roll top desk that my mother owned. My mom bought it when I was 13 with the settlement money she got from breaking her back on the job. She explained to me when the moving people were setting it up that it would be mine when she died, and then my kid's when I die and their kid's when they die. A solid oak roll top desk is one of those items that stays in the family for generation after generation.
Most of my other expensive stuff is just utilitarian. My computer, my car (which doesn't run, but was expensive), my BS in Accounting (by far the most expensive item I will likely ever have) and so on.
The last sentimental item would probably be my memory box. It has old report cards and school achievements, notes from and pictures of old boyfriends and best friends, outfits and shoes from when my babies were infants and so on. It's a very large box that sort of outlines my life story in items.
Mom's gonna fix it all soon.

Does this go under most expensive or most sentimental?
But, considering your username, I probably don't want to know the answer to that.
Did Night ever tell us his stuff?
Of course not.
No, he just wants to know what we care about most and what he can make a dollar off of by robbing us blind when we least expect it. Mostly hurt us by stealing our sentimental things. Good thing I lied about all of my things.

Old chess set with pieces modeled after people from Ceasertimes
GI Joe vol 1 issue 21
Cincinnati Reds baseball card collection (cards from 1956 -present)
All are strategically placed so if our house ever catches on fire I can quickly grab them on the way out.
I would put our Coat of Arms. We had a big plaque with the coat on it and two huge metal swords crossed and a mace hanging in between them, but we took the swords and mace off long ago to play with them and I got no idea where they are now. We do still have a smaller one with no weapons and a door knocker. So I guess I would grab those as well.

From a certain Cult artist?
Black, like your hearth.
- A painting I got as a gift
From a certain Cult artist?
Yes, indeed.

Hey Moonie !

Black, like your hearth.
Awww, you remembered! Before I cleaned it, it looked like this.

Anyway, black... okay... that's alright then.
What color would've been bad? Better?

I just wanted to see if we matched. Like if we could drive side by side without looking dumb. I guess we can.

I don't think I could break it down to five. But concerning the one person I've longed for and waited for more than any other. 28 years and counting since the last time I saw him.
all my expensive stuff is worthless.
