The lovey-dovey february picture thread
I just wanna say Jude is a pretty cool name.

It worked!

Our new view!

Awesome.

Wow, Imke, we have more snow than you have now. This is not right. Cool view, I like the coloured houses in the first picture.
You'll find the colored houses everywhere in Norway, so neat.

This is a bit up north in the country. Bucharest fares better, but it's snowing tons again.
I think I'm done here, folks. Don't really feel like I belong anymore.
Are you really leaving? This is a shame. Is it because of what everyone said about your boyfriend's moustache?
To be fair, she's kind of like Noah. Never post in other threads, just toss in a bunch of pictures until everyone thinks you're cool and then leave until next month's picture thread. It's a clever ploy.
I'd say I get into more discussions in picture threads than I actually post pictures, but okay. I've been around here for nearly 3 years, and over that period of time, the majority of people with whom I enjoyed talking the most have disappeared. I check in sometimes with pictures or a post in Girls Clubhouse or the science thread. What's wrong with that? Absolutely nothing. But yeah, when someone's a bitch to me for posting one just-kidding picture, it's time for me to go. Meanwhile, most of Noah's life looks to be one big ironic hipster party but you're nice enough to him.
I'll keep up with any of you who are my facebook friends, and feel free to add me there if you haven't already. I've enjoyed my time here and it's a lovely forum but it's just not for me anymore. Have fun and be kind to each other.
Are the scissors broken in your house, son?
I'm not nice enough to anyone, young lady.
I know you've decided to leave The Cult, but you could have just ignored that person's comment. I don't know what was said exactly but I think everyone here has been insulted at least once.
Yeah, soul crushing put downs are how we show affection. Not really. But I did once accidentally said something fairly insulting toward all the country of England (sorry!). Anyway, most of the people who posted when I first did aren't around anymore either. But this lot is generally alright too.

I thought you said "You'll find the FIRST colored houses anywhere in Norway."
I was about to ask if there was a law against color before then. Or if paint hadn't yet been imported or invented.
Anyway, nice view.

I know how you diddddd thattttt.

I like the color of that cat.
So much wisdom.
Kiss my buns

WEIRD. I saw Star Wars for the first time ever the same day you posted these.

Yesterday, I could see my breath and I declared the day too cold to do shit.
That last part was me trying to relate to you.
Edit'd for typos.
Surprisingly, it's not that cold right now. Only 25F or so. Last week we had 4-5F, so this is much better. If we don't get buried in snow like those poor people in the middle of the country.
How do people handle having their entire house buried in snow? Seriously, what do they do? Can they breathe? Do they just tough it out? What about the pipes? I'd think they would burst. I know nothing about winterizing anything. My colleagues in Idaho talk about snow shoeing in to the office for fun and I'm in awe because I thought snow shoes only existed on Looney Tunes.
I didn't know you'd been around that long Hattie, I knew you'd been here for years , but wow, you really have been here a long time.
Sam, that is too bad if you feel you don't fit around here anymore. Even if you mostly only post in the picture threads I find your pictures to be sweet and cute most of the time. I don't remember who or why any one was mean to you, probably because it wasn't to me so I just passed right over, but I hope you aren't letting one person get to you. Who cares about one cranky pants?
Also, that is soooooo much snow!
Not to be cynical or anything, but those people were stupid. In the countryside, you do not act like that. You store stuff for the winter and you know you're going to get snowed in. You store firewood, water and food because sooner or later that shit's gonna happen. The snow didn't get that high overnight and tv stations just love to make things sound worse than they are. Yes, they're snowed in, yes, they complain they've been left without electricity, but you can't complain you have no food. Not in that part of the country, where it's always either tons of snow or spring floods. Or both. Those people are prepared, or at least they should be. My grandparents have access to the basement from inside the house, and a special room for firewood in winter, as soon as they announce heavy snowfalls. Luckily, it's not the case in that area. Sure, roads are blocked and that I can understand, what with all the strong winds that make it virtually impossible to clean the streets and bigger roads. But I find it unacceptable to complain you've been left without 'a slice of bread' when it's been snowing for a month already and you have access to the news. Those aren't the remotest villages in the country, they have tvs and radios and weather forecast always predicted snow right this year.
To come back to your questions, I guess they can breathe, but I think it becomes depressing at some point, to see no light or whatever. I still think you should get the damn shovel inside the house when it starts snowing, so the next morning you could dig a tunnel or small path if need be.
/end rant, sorry
I know, it's ridiculous! I can't remember my first post.
According to our join dates, with the account you have now, I've been here one day longer than you though!
That's because back then I was called SnowWhite and the site has changed its hosting a few times.
I know.
I can't believe it has been almost three years for me, I didn't think I'd stay around for three weeks when I made my account.
Haha, it wasn't an unpersonal attack either! You're actually among my favorite people here. And I love your country's exports... Harry Potter is pretty awesome... this language too...
And holy shit, first ten?

Sam, I liked having you around again.

I know how you diddddd thattttt.
Do you? I don't even know how I did it. I was drunk and I thought I was seeing double.

Did you use both your phone and your computer to log on in a relatively short space of time? If not, you've an evil twin and one day, he will challenge you and you will fight to the death. Good luck!
You may have hit it in the head... not about logging in on both my computer and phone, but rather that I have an evil twin. You can tell the difference because he can grow one hell of a mustache.

Funny how they always can...
Just like the kid in my avatar.

I have only been around a minute, but I have noticed that your "asshole persona"that you seem to be trying for is definitely working I think.
Also I guess you can't like everyone on here huh?
Whatever Whore!
Well, I just noticed all the sam leaving stuff. Her posts scarily remind me of a girl I know. Plus, they're both sociology majors, so that's kinda funny.
Si vis pacem, para bellum

He really is pretty cool, though. I've always liked him a lot.
I promise I'll never go running when the ground is wet again.

“if you want to be a bird,” you said once, “with colorful plumage and buoyant trills, you must also be ready for hollow bones."
I have my moments
Well don't go getting a big head now...
Well you better be cool, because the comments I've seen, you come off as an ass to me for some reason. Ofcourse all of us can do that. But yeah, I'm hoping I'm wrong and you turn out to be cool.
Whatever Whore!
Ouch. I can't run outside--I really like my treadmill. Hope it looks worse than it feels.
Okay, here we go, some pictures!
We're still not completely done, need to hang nice things on the walls, but yeah.
Living room:

Kitchen and hallway:

Where we eat:

I love our dining table, you can put both sides down or up.

Mess:

Aww, looks very clean and roomy, Imke!
Hip Hooray for IKEA!
Your apartment looks so cool. It looks like it's really lovely to live in! Which I suppose is the point but you know what I mean. I can imagine nice breakfasts at the table.
I agree. I was one of the first ten people to join The Cult (ya ya give me a medal!) and yes, there were always cliques from back then too(The 10% Club, etc) and over time, pretty much everyone left, but it doesn't really matter because the Cult always manages to re-invent itself - mostly because of its great diversity of posters.
oh god, the 10% club. I had forgotten all about that stuff. hahaha!
Imke, it looks cool and simple, just how I hope my place will look when I move out. I don't know how you use that tiny desk, though.
Thanks, everyone!
Awesome Imke!
That table is way so cool.
This weta was in our bathroom on our magazine holder:
The cats, caught in a photo together. A rare occasion:

This is my niece, Amy. The bloke's brother's baby. I hadn't seen her since christmas, we visited on Sunday. I got down on the floor with her and said "Hi" and she was all over me. It was so cute. Bloke's folks were amazed. His dad snet me some photos of me and her playing, and called the pictures "baby whisperer". She's a lovely baby, I hope our baby has a similar personality and beautiful blue eyes.

This is why we can't have nice things.
