That would give everyone seven weeks from the time they find out who they are sending to to the time the package needs to be there in the end of December.
That also leaves sign ups open for about another six weeks, for all those slackers that only seem to come round and post a lot as we head into winter.
Who? There are only two possibilities. One is Tuffy, but I don't know his, like, real name. Unless that is his real name. The other is "newgirl", but she's here all of how much?

Seven weeks isn't long enough to acquire gifts and have them mailed across seas or lands? It will be the holiday time when the mail might slow down due to high amounts I suppose.
How about november first as a cutoff then? That is eight weeks from the time you find out your giftee until actual christmas day.
I sort of think people are trying to rush it because it is exciting. But finding out who you are giving to isn't going to make Christmas gt here any faster. Closing the sign ups too early will possibly exclude members who would have otherwise joined in, however.
Other people throw out dates! I'm just mulling ideas around, people don't have to agree with me on this. These are just my thoughts.

I just thought there are some people that we all like that would be welcome to join if they happen to come around as autumn progresses.

Caligula is a Chris I believe. And if we want those people to join in on secret santa someone message them on fb or whatever other form of communication you have with them. I don't think we should wait around too long only because I don't want people to end up with their packages in January.

Noah, international shipping might be expensive, it depends on how much your package weighs and which country you send it to.
I don't think shipping is very expensive if you get someone from the States. But when I sent mine to the US last year the shipping was around $25. And I didn't include a book.
I'm going with the flow with whatever yous decide. I'm just happy to be involved. I really enjoyed putting Cammies box together.

I dunno if I'm in on this yet, but I thought I'd let you guys know that I had to run a secret santa thing last year and there are phone apps you can download to do the name-pulling so you don't literally have to pull any names out of a hat. It's like a random number generator type thing. You put in all the names and it matches them up.
Others might still join in, you never know.
This is probably inappropriate for me to say, but I will say it anyway (though I don't assume I am the only one who thought of it), and I won't elaborate because she has made it clear via facebook that she wishes for discretion (and I realise she may come along and read this too) but I think it would be nice if we all sent Chenoa well wishes as Christmas approaches.
I think she will probably be really needing them by then.
