I tried to post from my phone but it didn't work again. Then i was gonna post pics today at work but i received a lengthy email about how i need to pick up the pace and stop forgetting things because basically someone told my boss i was forgetting stuff instead of coming to me directly and dealing with it. I really want to post the pics and i will, don't worry.

I do hope you post pics Tuff. Last year, Cammie was my Giftee, and she never posted pics of her package. It kind of hurt my feelings. Everyone likes to see their package pics posted, it makes you feel good that your Giftee likes their package. I'm not nagging you either Tuff, so please don't take it that way. (but I will be glad to see your pics.)

UPDATE!
I just wanted to say that the German sausage I got was totally yummy, and that I regularly wear the necklace I got in my package. There's an old picture of my mom in the locket right now.
The cookies were gone soon after the package arrived, they were amazing, and perhaps Barbara could give me the recipes?
I tried the melting lead thing, but haven't really got the hang of it yet. I also need to buy a candle for it, because trying to warm up the lead over a tealight does not work. I'll definitely try again, it's fun.
The notebook I'm using for Cultie addresses, because it's so impractical to have them scattered somewhere in messages on the internet.

Ah cool, i was worried it wasn't enough stuff. That and i closed and taped the box before i put the letter in and i was out of tape so i had to stuff the letter into the box and i was worried it wouldn't survive the trip.
Yay!!! Can't wait for the pictures. I hope Barb takes them hehe.

recipes for imke !
"spitzbuben" ( cheeky boys )
300 gr. flour
150 gr. cold butter
1 tsp. cinnamon
1 tsp. baking powder
1 egg
120 gr. sugar
15 gr. vanilla sugar
marmalade for the filling and powdered sugar .
mix butter, egg and sugars, add flour and baking powder last and knead it into a silky dough. put it in the fridge for at least an hour, then cut it in whatever shapes you like, make sure you have an equal amount of tops with holes and bottoms. bake at 160°c for about 8-9 min. let them cool down a bit, then fill them with marmalade ( i prefer raspberry or plum but any taste works ). sprinkle some powder sugar on top TADAAA ! enjoy.
"schokoladebrot" ( chocolate bread )
250 gr. butter
250 gr. sugar
6 eggs
100 gr. flour
a pinch of baking powder
250 gr. grated hazelnuts
250 gr. grated chocolate
dark chocolate for the glazing
again, start with butter, eggs and sugar, add flour with baking powder. the nuts and chocolate last. i use this recipe quite loosely. i often take a variety of nuts like almonds, walnuts and cashew, sometimes pistachio and i take up to 350 gr. of nuts to make it more juicy . also, you can take white chocolate instead of milk or dark chocolate but make sure to reduce the sugar a bit other wise it get´s very sweet. spread the dough on a baking tray, 1,5-2 cm high, bake at 175°C about 20 minutes. let it cool down a bit and then cover it generously with melted chocolate. after it cooled down cut it in squares. NOMNOM.
"vanillekipferl" ( vanilla crescents )
( sorry, didn´t take a picture of those, but i guess you know which i mean )
150 gr. soft butter
50 gr. powdered sugar
a pinch of salt
100 gr. grated almonds
200 gr. flour
20 gr. vanilla sugar plus 5 tsp. normal sugar mixed together for the decoration
mix powdered sugar, butter and the almonds, add flour last. keep the dough for at one night in the fridge. form it into two long rolls of about 30 cm, wrap them in plastic foil and cool for another two hours. cut the rolls in about 20 slices and form crescents. this works best by rolling the slices into rolls with the palm of your hand, use flour to keep it from sticking onto your hands. bake at 160°c for 15-20 minutes.
take the hot crescents and roll them in the vanilla sugar/ sugar mix. let them cool down and try not to eat them all at once !

what i like best is that he enclosed a long letter explaining why he chose what. he gave us two comic books by david lapham. i only browsed through them so far and i especially like the design of " young liars ". also stephen managed to find the only james ellroy book we didn´t have in english. that is quite something because we do have shelves of ellroy books, ludwig being a big fan and all. the squishy red thing in the box is a penguin that you can paint however you like. my little niece adores penguins and we´ll sure get creative with it the next time she comes over. there was also all sorts of cool merchandise from a local beer company. beer stuff= WOOT.
stephen, i actually liked that the package arrived just now, because christmas you get smothered with presents left and right and january is a kinda dry spell before valentine´s day, so hooray for the timing. it was really a great surprise and THANKS A LOT

The package looks much better now that i see it all together. I think i just wanted more stuff for Barbara. I was going to send this cool pink pint glass with a kitten on it but i didn't think it would survive the trip. I'm glad you guys like it. That Ellroy book was a pretty good find, i was surprised to see it on the shelf.
