that was actually the most fun part ! i had wrapped everything and then i poured the snow in the parcel and giggled, because it´s a bit of a mess of course, then i said "more snow" and poured and giggled some more. hihi.

Present time!

This beautiful bag has a dragonfly on the front and descriptive facts near the bottom. Did you know that I really like dragonflies? (I have dragonfly things in my kitchen!) I didn't know that the dragonfly is also the "damselfly".

This book looks very interesting, and I think I'll start reading it now. The little blurb on the back says it's a "Novel of high adventure, great storytelling and moral purpose, based on an extraordinary true story of eight years in the Bombay underworld". I think it's cool that you found the story by way of Pal Martin's parents, and that your "in-laws" share a love of reading.

Plus, I love LONG stories! (look how big this book is you guys)

These chocolates are delicious! The boys have already had a few pieces each, and Anthony's having fun trying to figure out what the words are in English. So far his favorite are the Appelsin Skum (he says, "chocolate SCUM, hahaha, get it, Mom?)

Here's a really cute little book mark with my "name" on the front and back. It's magnetic, so it'll hold the page nicely and won't slip around.

I love how this coffee mug has a black and white theme. It reminds me of a Christmas/winter scarf.

Here is a Dutch postcard, picturing artwork that served as the cover of a book of sheet music in 1915. It's going on the fridge next to my Scarlett O'Hara magnet that Minerva gave me a couple years ago.

This little paper heart is adorable and has now become an ornament for our tree. (I'm afraid the detail isn't showing up in the picture I took, but it's woven together and looks very pretty).

Awesome gifts, y'all! Shantaram is one of Imke's favourite books if I remember correctly. I saw it in Romanian in two volumes, but I have it on my Kindle ever since she recommended it and I'll get to read it someday.

My package should be arriving the 20th. I found the tracking info and realized that they had my other email address and finally saw where the package is. Can't wait!

I received my package yesterday but didn't open it--I thought Jaz and Imke opened theirs because they were going away. So I weighed it in my hands, shook it a couple times by my ear, and reluctantly put it up on a shelf so the cat wouldn't chew the tape off and puke all over the carpet.

Now I'm mad I'm not home and have to work late tonight. But I'm opening it and will post pictures.

Blank journal 'for my thoughts'

An extremely awesome looking book, which, no I have not read before. A leather bound copy of Lamb- The Gospel according to Biff, Christ's childhood pal by Chritopher Moore. (when I first saw it for a brief second I thought Melody sent me a Bible!)

And two of my best loves, Beer and Spicy Stuff! (yes I am a beer person. A great lover and enthusiast of beer in fact)

Everything together. Well... almost everything.

What would happiness be without a little tragedy? Naught but an misunderstood phantom.

The Santa mug is barely cracked so I will be able to repair it, and thankfully all the newspaper and the cardboard absorbed all of the beer that broke. There was just a bit absorbed by the corner edge of Lamb, but it isn't damaged beyond being able dry out and be perfectly nice looking and readable.

There was also excellent looking cocoa and a giant Christmas tree lollipop and Snowman pez and a wonderful hand written letter and soap named after me!

Thank you so much for everything Melody. It is all beautiful and very thoughtful and brightened my day so much and now the kids are trying to steal half of it from me and Lily is running around the house wearing on of the bow as a hair band!

(also, yes, that is a wok full of fruit in the background)

Oh no! I can't believe one of the beers broke! And the mug was cracked! I packed everything so carefully!

Also, I got the reindeer pooper at Kroger. I don't know if y'all have those there.

grr, I'm still frustrated about the breakage, they really had to work hard to break that stuff. I sent Tietz about eight beers and they weren't nearly as well packed and nothing broke.

I was surprised too, as it seemed like everything was wrapped so well I couldn't see what must have happened at all.

I am not sure if we have Kroger's around here at all.

Gabriel is drooling over the journal so now I know something to pick him up for Christmas that he will love. (seriously, all the kids are trying to steal my goodies!)

I'm going to have the other two beers tonight after dinner, the strawberry one looks like a lot of fun. I'll have it first.
