Tea-riffic!
Ah, I saw those sugar sticks for the first time only about a month ago! Great idea!
I come from a family of hardcore "English tea"* drinkers. I can't remember my first cup, but I'm sure it was a special moment. My Mum drinks about 8 cups a day, which probably isn't good for you, but at least she's given up smoking. I think I drink about 3 on average; the ocassional Earl Grey in the afternoon (not a good tea to drink when you've just woken up).
*And when I say "English tea" I mean Assam, which is known in the UK as "Breakfast" or a "Builder's" tea. This is the most popular type of tea over here. These are my favourite brands:

When drinking tea with my Mum, there are certain rules: She is very fussy about what sort of mug you give her (it has to be fine bone china) and will get really cross if I don't brew it in the teapot. I can't really taste the difference to be honest. About a year ago I gave up putting a spoonful of sugar in my tea but I hate to say that it really doesn't taste as good without it.
Now and then I go through phases of drinking other types of tea, such as green tea with citrus. Twinnings do some good green tea varieties.
Oh and I really don't like black tea. When I was in North India a tibetan monk gave me a cup and it tasted of mud. I also think that Rooibos tastes like unlit cigarettes.
Hattie, have you ever had tea from Harrods? Dad bought six packs last year and they were so SO good. Earl Grey, English Breakfast, Ceylon, Afternoon Blend and Breakfast Blend.
I also like Whittard of Chelsea and we have a few shops, too. I bought a lot when I was in Leamington.
It was past my bedtime and I was super tired! Jesus, I'm so sorry. At least if it was someone more.. interesting. A million times sorry. I'm not culting late at night anymore.

I like the looks of that.
And Mae, you have a nice name and it reminds me of the famous Mae West sofa by Salvador Dali.
Your tea boxes are absolutely lovely. I think I might take photos of mine as well. Your whole set is brilliant. I love the size of the cups.
Ah thank you dearie. I was named after Ireland and Mae was my father's mother who was a small Native American woman. I wonder if she drank tea. I love that sofa. I love Dali.
also, one of my favorite things about my ex boyfriend was that every time I stayed at his house, he'd make me a little cup of tea before bed.
my favorite place to get tea is this little place on the bike trail near campus called the tea room. this is it.

I would love to sit down/curl up with culties and drink tea and talk about books and science and flowers and clever things.
This place looks magical. Quite a good place for clever discussions.

I love trying new teas when I go out. [ If they have proper tea.] Like kinds I've never heard of. Everyone seems to agree Twinnings is good. I'm glad I'm not the only one. Your mum sounds like my grandmother, she has to have a proper tea cup or a special glass one that's hand painted by some old New England artist. She has a whole wall of hundreds of boxes and tins and bags of teas. All kinds, especially crazy foreign ones. We're only allowed to brew her tea in a tea pot, I can still hear the whistle shrieking out loud in my head. She had all kinds of tea pots. Ah you're so lucky, North India!
I love how much tea love there is going on here.

So pretty Sarah. I just finished drinking some ginger tea and decided to use the Japanese style teapot. I'll post pics later when I get on the computer
Lovely gif [: Everyone has such wonderful tea sets. I need to get a new teapot, badly.

Ahh I didn't see that it was a gif from my phone! So awesome. Foiled by Sarah again!

The only tea I like is ice tea.

FYI, I have the best possible tea cup in the world. It's been painstakingly engineered by men who've devoted their lives to science, and was given to me by a girl who gushes over australopithecii.

My mug wins at all the tea.
Yes, Berto, but I knew about it before YOU DID!

well. you are married to the gushy scientist girl, after all...
I drink more coffee than tea these days, alas. But, since I moved I don't have the same selection of tea that I had before, nor do I have a tea kettle any longer. My mom did send me some good-for-my-health teas last month, though, because she's a good mom.
Mostly, the teas I drink are to help my kidneys, or my stomach. I also have some that I drink for balancing out my hormones so that my cramps don't make me die.
I haven't had the flower teas, but my mom got some earlier this year as a gift from my sister and she loved it. They look so lovely when you watch the flowers blossom in the tea pot.
My favorite teas are fruity kinds, or vanilla teas. I love, love, love adding milk to my tea as well, but I didn't start doing that until just a couple of years ago. I find tea to be a very smooth drink and talking about it is making me want to brew some, but I don't have any pretty-tasting tea. Mrow!

I'm glad you liked it c:
you never sent me a picture of your 8-bit flowers that went with it!

BUMP!
So Santa brought me Afternoon Darjeeling by Taylors of Harrogate. Dubbed "the champagne of tea", it sounds quite fancy. I'll try it tomorrow with cookies or sponge cake.
Yeahhhh, but Miller is "the champagne of beers" so I'd take that with a grain of salt.
Tuffy the Dump Truck may rarely increase the risk of a heart attack or stroke. The risk may be greater if you have heart disease or increased risk for heart disease (for example, due to smoking, family history of heart disease, or conditions such as high blood pressure or diabetes), or with longer use. Tuffy should not be taken right before or after heart bypass surgery. Also, Tuffy may infrequently cause serious (rarely fatal) bleeding from the stomach or intestines. This effect can occur without warning symptoms at any time while taking Tuffy. Older adults may be at higher risk for this effect. (See also Precautions and Drug Interactions sections.) Stop taking Tuffy and get medical help right away if you notice any of the following rare but serious side effects: bloody or black/tarry stools, persistent stomach/abdominal pain, vomit that looks like coffee grounds, chest/jaw/left arm pain, shortness of breath, unusual sweating, weakness on one side of the body, sudden vision changes, slurred speech. Ask your doctor if Tuffy is right for you.

Aww swans!
And yeah, I don't quite believe that. I'll just have to wait and see.

What kind of tea do you drink to help your stomach/kidneys && cramps? I have the worst cramps like...not allowed to walk or I'm screaming curses at non existant gods.
Fruity teas are absolutely wonderful, though I think I'd only add milk/cream/what ever with vanilla-y flavoured teas.
Ugh I want vanilla tea now but I have everything but that. Le sigh.

Oh, wow! Too bad tea can't have swans! How lovely.

My Mum, the boyf and I tried some of the T2 brand whilst out and about this afternoon. It's loose leaf tea from Australia.
We had the Strawberries and cream, Creme Brulee and Turkish Apple flavours. Creme Brulee was a big disappointment but the others were quite nice. I'm such a sucker for pretty packaging!
I also like Whittard of Chelsea and we have a few shops, too. I bought a lot when I was in Leamington.
Sorry I missed your post, Irina!
Absolutely love Harrods tea - especially the Laduree cafe there:

It's a bit of an expensive annual tradition round about my birthday.
And no, I have never had Whittards tea - but I like their powdered hot drinks! I will have to give their brews a go.
If you get in to Warwick, we'll have to meet in London for the day for tea tasting!
Which are your favourite teas without milk?
My absolute favourite is Earl Grey, but I've grown very fond of Twinings' Traditional Afternoon and my somewhat meaningless aim is to taste Imperial Blend, which I've heard is the strongest tea around.
Actually I take all my tea without milk.

chai can.
“if you want to be a bird,” you said once, “with colorful plumage and buoyant trills, you must also be ready for hollow bones."
Chai don't count because it it really just wants to be coffee when it grows up.

skjhdfhsdfh Earl Grey!! Delicious.
I don't think I've ever actually had anything in my tea besides a very rare once in a while, sugar/sweetener. [Besides honey, of course.]

I secretly love Starbucks Cahi Lattes. We can be horrible people together. Though, I haven't really bought from Starbucks in years.

Pretty accurate.
I am ruthlessly conservative with my stance on tea, and cannot abide by anything other than the best.
Accept no substitute:

2 sugars, please
Don't get me started on herbal tea, though - its for the birds!
