I wanted to take pictures of the hundreds of people that kept walking back and toward the festival as I waited for the bus but my battery was about to die. It was madness. I'm gonna see if my mom wants to go tomorrow. If not we are for sure going to a Dia de Los Muertos thing in Whittier which I'm looking forward to.

A little onesie backstory: after I gave it to him, he showed me a picture of little Frances (he had her with Zoe, the female vocalist on a few of Portugal's older albums). After I melted all over the ground at the cuteness, John said he was going to send a picture of the onesie to Zoe and then he acted out what Frances would do when she saw the it by making a blank face and tilting his head to the side.
also, Portugal usually always covers a Beatles song at shows and John has "yes I'm lonely, wanna die" tatooed on himself so, I was pretty sure it would be a big hit. CORRECT.

No it wasn't a Halloween party. Halloween was pretty much non existent when I was a child, but it's become more and more popular over the years. Some people are still anti it, saying it's an american celebration.
My Wild Rumpus was to celebrate my 30th birthday, the theme was come as a favourite character from your childhood.

Holy shit. That's a fuckload of pumpkins.
One of my roommate bought a pumpkin, one of those tiny ones, and put it outside next to our door. Drew a scary face on it, not a bad one either. It was cute, I know. Except it got stolen the first night. The FIRST NIGHT. She asked the landlord to review the security camera footage and apparently our cameras are just for show. She was so angry and it was hilarious.
I need some new chews like this. My working out sneakers are ancient. I kinda want to buy some with those springs or whatever. They're not really my usual style but I've never had them and ever since I was little and everyone else was wearing them, I couldn't shake the feeling that they would make you bounce really high.
By the way, your hair looks prettyyyy nice.

Yeah it's on the first but the owner of a little Mexican influenced store in that town throws the festival in the middle of October I think as to not interfere with the other day of the dead festivals we have in the L.A. area. I'm pretty sure they hold the official Dia de Los Muertos on the actual day of on Olvera Street by Union Station.

October is the slutty month.
My dad was a security guard when I was a kid, and somehow I came to own those. I've had them for like ten years. They've been on that light for probably 4 years. I never thought about it, though it does seem weird. Maybe I should take them down.
Obviously I also use them on Jaz in our marital bed.

Sarah, that costume is great.
I have been making this costume for my wife, acrylic on fabric. It is a multi-layered piece--essentially a suit with overlapping skeletal structures to make it more dynamic. It doesn't look like I will finish before this weekend though, much to her chagrin, so it will have to be next year's costume. We went thrifting to track down all the black clothes.
This piece still needs some touch-up. I have been trying to convince her that the best way to do the Skull is to shave her head so the white make-up goes on smooth. So far to no avail. Maybe by next year. Did I mention she is a Halloween Baby. Born on Halloween. Scary.
I feel more like I do now than I did before.
