Fuck yes! I actually enjoy hockey and I really don't like soccer at all. Been to a few Ducks games and even went to a roller hockey game at the pond. Good times. Awesome fights up against the glass. I should go to a game next season.

Look. They're both good for different reasons, but I like both because they're fast moving. Hockey is by far my favourite american sport, though. Baseball is ok, but also pretty boring, and American football just doesn't compare to soccer or rugby for me. (see also, boring)
I'll have to admit those soccer players sure deserve a lot of golden globes for the bullshit acting they do on the field.

I have to agree. I played hockey from the age of, I think, seven until I was 20 or so. And still I'll play pick-up games every so often.
I also played soccer. While I like hockey so much more, soccer is way harder and more demanding.
So running is really harder than getting punched in the face?
That actually surprises me.
You have to wear a mask on your helmet until you're in the NHL. So fighting is mostly pointless, though it happens a lot.

Every single time I ever played soccer I would get mortally wounded. I either got a bloody nose or the wind knocked out of me at least once during recess playing soccer. I've ran into walls, flown through the air about 3ft off the ground and landed on asphalt, been tackled by guys twice my size playing football at the beach, I played powderpuff football, I've been beamed by some of the best volleyball hitters in the nation, and during my high school days would play against some of the best high school teams in the state who were beasts. When I'm playing in a game I don't have time to cry about getting injured. The only time I ever gave up was when I literally could not run anymore during CIF semi-finals for track, I finished the race injured, still qualified for finals, but I decided I wanted to keep my legs for the rest of my life than risk injuring myself even more. That was on my birthday too.
