So it seems tattoos aren't as socially accepted as I thought. We got NSFW tagged.
Once I see tits, nudity or anything else I might get in trouble for looking at while at work, I slap on a NSFW tag on it. It's fair.

I do like the final result...not sure I'm a big fan of an all red tattoo though. How long does the red pigment last? I would think it would fade a lot quicker than any of the other colors and would need constant touching up.
Thats not pigment, thats all scaring.
To do it right, or to get it to scar right here are the basic steps.
Let it scab.
shower so the scabs get soft
with a clean toothbrush carefully remove the scabs
apply hydrogen peroxide and lemon juice to clean and irritate the area.
rinse and repeat.
To get good scaring you have to stop it from healing for a long time.
MY tattoo artist has done a few and one of my friends has a piece done.
But then some people scar like this.

Where the scar is raised, it depends on the scaring method and the aftercare.

wow so i was right when i said that was horrific. I love scars but intentional scarring just seems ... a little boggling to me. I guess tattoos are similar and I know scarring is a right of passage in some countries but I don't know why it just makes me think of emo kids who cuts themselves just to feel physical pain to distract from the "internal pain".
So when your friend who does the scarring he scraps the area with a sharp object? I've seen with branding scars before.
Why would someone go through the amount of pain required by the scarification process to have something as inane as fucking bamboo down their back? argh.
I saw my brother in law last night and he just had a new tattoo, I didn't even know he was getting a new one.
Forearm sleeve of Portland blown to shit. He's got the St. Johns bridge, the convention center, Rose Garden and a bunch of smaller landmarks. I didn't get very good pictures, but it is just fantastic.

Yeah, the inside of your arm there is meant to hurt a bit, but mine was pretty fine. The worst part that I remember is how awkward I had to twist my arm around.

A fella I work with has tons of tattoos, one day I asked him:
"Of all the tattoos you've had done which was the one that hurt ----"
before I got out "the most" he pointed to the inside of his arm and was all like "Oh shit, the second he got started all I could think about was telling him to stop. I wanted to jump out of my skin and run away."
I can't help but wonder what my weak spot will be. I think probably next to my belly button, in that curves that goes down to your crotch. That shit tickles me crazy, so a tattoo gun would probably fuck my shit up. Maybe It'll be on my calf like my brother. I don't think ribs will be that bad because I've had my shin done and that's right on the bone. It didn't feel great, but it wasn't awful either.
Rule of thumb; the more ticklish an area, the more painful the tattoo.

most places won't let you get a tattoo if you're drunk will they? You should be able to come in and tell them what you want, go ahead and give them a down-payment or something and then come back later drunk off your ass for them to do the work.
