Shhhhh! Santa's Secret Workshop
Did it blow?
Sorry I'm immature. But hooray!
I was waiting but I couldn't anymore so I opened my gift from winnie! I've been really sick so it made me feel lots better. she sent me wonderful books and yummy goodies.
and she wrapped everything so beautifully! thank you so much winnie! I'll post pictures soon.
also, I know you don't know who I am (or you may have figured it out), but if you haven't gotten a gift yet, it may be from me. I have been unbelievably sick and haven't been able to leave my house. I'm going to overnight it right after christmas. again, sorry.
“if you want to be a bird,” you said once, “with colorful plumage and buoyant trills, you must also be ready for hollow bones."
Yeah, I think mine's gonna be late too. I sent it on the 8th, though.

I hope I speak for everyone on this: please don't go to the expense of overnighting. It's waaaay too expensive. Even the price difference between regular mail and priority on Pete's was $10. I went with regular and guess what? It still got there in two or three days.

Late is acceptable, its only never that is not.

We only have one option. Priority air mail, and even that one's supposed to get there in around 2 weeks and a half.
It's the same here if its going international, but for domestic mail there are options

I'm glad everything arrived Steve. I always get anxiety. Ha
If my secret santa is one of the late ones, it's okay because I'm at home for the week right now! I'll be back in Kirksville next Tuesday.
I got it on Thursday!!!!! You spent entirely too much on shipping, young lady, but I was so excited when it got here!
You're so sweet, and I want to show everyone the awesome stuff you sent to me, so as soon as I'm able, I'm gonna post some pics. I have to tell you that Anthony, my ten year old, totally stole the book from me, haha. He was like, "Hmmm, this looks like something I'd like...", and next thing I knew, he was propped up in his room halfway through it!
Thank you so much, Sam!
(I think my FAAAAVORITE thing is the picture frame! Matches my black and white theme perfectly).

Aww, yay!!!!! I'm so glad you liked everything/received it on time! And that's funny about Anthony! If he likes it, I'd also suggest to him (and you too!) The Last of the Really Great Whangdoodles by Julie Andrews (yes, THAT Julie Andrews!). It's right up the same alley, just a bit lengthier, and 10 is the perfect age for reading it.
Merry Christmas
Are the scissors broken in your house, son?
Oh man, does this mean...? Now I'm excited! I checked the mailbox yesterday and nothing was there, but I'll go tomorrow too. As long as my gift will be late, I can't complain about receiving mine on time, even if these things can't be controlled.
Boo, no post tomorrow.

also monday in this case
Are the scissors broken in your house, son?

This is why we can't have nice things.
I got an awesome package from Steve today!

It includes Miss Lonelyhearts & The Day of the Locust by Nathanael West, The Corrections by Jonathan Franzen, the original buffalo wing sauce from where wings were born, which makes me want wings for breakfast, some lindt dark chili chocolate, which honestly scares the shit out of me, and a badass Harry Potter scarf. I mean, how did you know I liked Harry Potter?! And also an assortment of candy canes and a cute card with kitty cats!
Thank you so much Steve, everything is awesome!

I've always wanted to try that chocolate, but have been too scared also.
That chili chocolate is delicious. Don't be afraid. The Dark Side beckons.
This is why we can't have nice things.
If you want to try chili chocolate, always trust the Swiss. Go on, Melody, it's good.
Also, cool gifts!
I also give my approval of the chili chocolate.
That Slytherin scarf is the shiznit!
... where's it from, Steve? (I know Hogwarts, but I can't get there as I am a mere muggle
)
YAY! I'm glad it wasn't way late. I hope all the candy wasn't broken.

That scarf is where it's at.
The "it" would be the awesomeness.
That package is awesome Melody. Great job Steve!
Also chili chocolate is great.
I particularly like Dagoba which also has other neat flavors but my favorite was the chili one

If I remember correctly, the Ancient Native Americans used to make prepare chocolate with chili or a hot pepper. That's how it was first prepared. As a drink.
That was the Aztecs. I know because I once went to a Museum of Chocolate and they said so and had pictures and texts and stuff.
Also the ticket was a bar of dark chocolate.
Ahhhh I just got back to Kirksville!
1. Jaz, thank you so much for the card! It's lovely!! You have incredibly beautiful handwriting.
2. Whoever my Secret Santa was, your parcel arrived on 12/20, I left on the evening of 12/19 haha
Barely missed it! But Chris is running out to pick it up while I get ready for work so I will be receiving it soon!!! Thank you!
Are the scissors broken in your house, son?
That is because the Aztecs were the bomb.
They are underrated, I've always been facinated by them.
They're pretty awesome. I just WISH there was more written about their history from first-hand sources. There would be so much too learn about mass psychology and different interpretations of specialization in society. "Ancient" politics are my favorite kind of politics.

My teacher looked at me funny, then gave me the extra half credit I need in order to graduate.
Irina!!!!!!!! I am at work on toddler nap duty so I have a moment to say THANK YOU I LOVE EVERYTHING SO MUCH! I'm so sorry to have kept you in suspense over the delivery status and whatnot! Ok I will write more when I'm home but yeah for now, thank you x a lot and you did an amazing job and the henna kit will totally be used, no worries, I'm very excited about it!!
Are the scissors broken in your house, son?
I just received a card from hattie, sarah, and irina thank you all
Oh yay you got it!

That's a pretty good collection of international cards you got at once!
yeah, well hattie's came in yesterday. yours and irina's came today. So far my parents are jealous that I got more christmas mail then they did hehe.
Sorry it arrived late
it's ok. at least it made it before february

:D
Time to wear this friendship bracelet!
Also: the tiny things near the bottom are earrings and an adorable puppy clothespin
and a hand-made origami santa!
Are the scissors broken in your house, son?
I'm just wondering, is there an ETA out there for me?
We keep checking our doorstep with dashed hopes. Dashed, I say!

Well, I'm still waiting on last year's. It was mailed "twice", so...
I'm still optimistic.
This is why we can't have nice things.
ALECIA:
I got your Amazon gift and I bet the next day the post office works I'm getting the rest of the package. You shouldn't worry anyway, it was barely 10 days yesterday (what with the time zone difference that adds an extra day). So it'll probably be here on Monday, but I can't wait! Thank you a million times for Warmed and Bound!

I have insider information that yours was sent like two days ago.

Sounds good. It's been Adelaide's little chore each day to check for us.

I absolutely awed outloud at this.

I awed at the insider information part, then I chuckled inside at the Adelaide's little chore part.
