Sex
I have a question. What do you guys and gals think is a respectable number for your girlfriend or boyfriend or whatever to have slept with?
My friend had been dating this girl for a while and she told him that she has slept a certain number of people and then she told him later that she lied to him and gave him the real number which was considerable. He was really upset about it and i just wondered what others think about it.
You know im going to lose

You can't put a number on something like that. Where is the line between acceptable and unacceptable drawn? Is ten sexual partners ok, but eleven not? I think the acceptable thing to do is, be honest. If someone asks, tell the truth, don't be ashamed if you've had 20 mates. And likewise, don't be ashamed if you're a virgin. Honesty is the best policy, right?

i'm a virgin. wait.. you weren't talking to me. numbers can be initimidating, but it's good to never know and never want to know. if you find yourself wondering, jack off or something and forget about it. cant erase the past.
sincerely, the lone virgin.
Wait, wait, you're not alone, for I am a virgin too. And plan to stay that way until I'm good an' hitched. Little sidenote, Friday night, while drinking with friends and playing a game of truth and dare, which is wierd because I'm 20 and in college and playing truth and dare, but oh well. Someone asked me a truth and the question was how many women I've had sex with, and proudly I said "None." Well, they were stunned. Then I explained myself and I'm sure they think less of me but fuck em! I only really knew like three of the about 8 or so there, and hopefully they are good enough friends too not care about something as trivial as virginity or sex when it's not involving them. I didn't really like the rest of them though, so all is well.

It's scary when you start thinking about it...remember 'kids'!?
Today everyone sleeps around...I haven't always had save sex and maybe those girls forget it once and those people forgot it once with someone else who had a bad blood transfusion.

i'm a virgin too, saving myself for marriage.....but i don't think anyone will go to hell if they've had sex before they get married.....

number of people? may i put succintly, 'who fucking cares?'
depends on what this *friend* wants, if it IS your *friend* were talking about here. If they want an experienced lover, they shuld be pretty easy about the numbers she's shagged, but if this guy wants a virgin, well, to satisfy his own ego? i dont know, ugh, who even cares about this. its totally subjectively categorically AND definitively irrelevant.
life's pretty straight without vidalia :You_Rock_
i dont really care how many, just as long as they're clean for me =D
We're the culture that cried wolf.
when people think less of people saving themselves for marrige i dont like
That's also worse when people are more proud of having lots of sexual parnters, than having just one lots of times =D
I've had sex out of marrige ( mostly because I dont really ever wanna get married ) but i am growing up in a christian family and have a lot of influence on my morals and whatnot. My first time was actually kinda recent and I can tell ya it was nothing special.
I think sex would be more exciting maybe if you're in love, but it does get better the more you have it.
I think I wanted virginity to be bigger of a deal than it actually was. After sexual intercourse, you don't have any new look on life ( not the right phrase, but the first one that comes to mind. ) I guess maybe that's what virginity is made out to be though, some barrier you have to break for a new life or i dont even know
We're the culture that cried wolf.
It's never as good as it is in your head.
Assuming that your partner has been safe and clean all the times he or she has had sex, then no, I don't think there should be any concern about how experienced someone is. This is all a matter of trust. If there isn't that kind of trust and you're actually worried about the number of people your boy or girl has been with, then you probably shouldn't be having sex. Although it's lost the kind of sacredness (if that's a word), sex should still mean something, in my opinion, and shouldn't simply be had to say you've had it.
THATS the word i was lookin for
well at least it works better
sacredness, hehe.
All I gotta say is if I ever find a girl that the sex is as good as sex is in my dreams, god damn i'm never lettin that girl get away from me.
We're the culture that cried wolf.
Any girls who did more than 25 guys is a no no. But that's just my opinion.
sex is popularly beleived these days as an act or an art. well, to some people anyway. I do wish it was more common for people to stay virgins until the right person comes along mainly because it's hard to find a virgin girl anywhere that wants a committed relationship. just about everybody i know has had atleast ten partners.
sincerely, the not so lone virgin.

~dante, "clerks"
the important number isn't how many BEFORE you, it's how many WITH you, ya dig?
It doesn't matter to me how many times a girl I'm intrested in has 'done it,' as long as she's willing to zip it up while she's with me. Too bad it rarely works like that, and when it does, its not for very long. I mean, I'm not a complete prude, I'm all about fooling around with my girlfiend when I have one, just not sex. Some might say that makes me a hipocrit, but I don't think it does.

haha...moe.ron, when i first read this topic, that's EXACTLY what i thought of........the clerks quote, that is.......

Hey im not trying to judge anyone by asking this question and i do believe that what was in the past is in the past. I just think its funny that most people make sex out to something trivial and its really not something that is that important. I could be wrong but that is what i get from people now a days.
Wesley Snock i dont know what your problem is with me but it seems that you are trying to get at me. I just post stuff that i believe to be intresting and if you dont find it intresting then dont reply to my questions. you dont have to put up this attitude like your better than everyone else.

dammit dammit dammit. moe, you beat me to usind the clerks line, and nirvana, you beat me to say something about wanting to say it. dammit dammit dammit. this is why this site rocks, it's like one semifunctional/disfunctional ball of funny brains.
i sometimes wonder why people are in such a hurry to have sex. i think the age you're suposed to lose your virginity now is like ten or something. gee wiz... i'm way off. i still like my hand and sand paper....
This middle-aged married coot knows for a fact that _number of sexual partners_ is meaningless. I've never asked my wife and she has never asked me - can knowing a number possibly make your life better?
But back to your original question Becks - It's rude to ask a girl how many partners she has had (I'm guessing the people in question are fairly young, so really the number can't be that high).
Well to be honest they are not young. The girl is 23 and the guy is 22. He just has this wared view of the world. The girl had told him a number around 4 guys and then after they had been together for awhile it came out that it was actually more like 8. He was just shocked and upset. He asked me what i thought about it and i said that i had no idea, so i decieded to ask you guys what you thought.
You know im going to lose

Heh. It's all relative, Becks; they are young. And 8 isn't very many. She shouldn't have lied, but he shouldn't have asked.
Just where I'm coming from.

i think anyone, guy or girl, can have slept with as many people of whichever sex they want--it's their business and their body. so long as they don't expose you to diseases and sleep only with you while you're together, it's nothing anyone can really comment on to another person. it's up to them.

Wow. This little thread got CRAZY. People telling me to abuse my girlfriend, people showing an alarming lack of respect for women as a whole, people questioning my masculinity in some kind of bizarre machoistic pissing-contest. Hell, I even got called stuffy.
