I think the dog I'm thinking of is the Caucasian Mountain dog, but maybe the one I remember seeing on TV years ago was like some rare sub-strain of the breed because the chick that had her (someone famous on Letterman or Leno) had to throw a lot of bribes to get it out of Russia. Or maybe that's just normal Russian Customs...

I was looking around for it, and this fit the bill.

They're pretty good Photoshop jobs. I mean, I manipulate photos all the time, it's part of my job, and a convincing composite like these is difficult. Lighting angles will kill you. The slightest difference in the angle and huge of the light on the animal you're faking in will make it look that little bit 'off' and any clod can tell it's a doctored photo. But these are really good. That bottom one, Hercules with the horse on the left, he's perfect. You can see a little funky stuff in the flanks at the right edge of the top dog, and the middle one has been doctored to look like a faded photo, probably to mask the problems I'm talking about. That bottom one is as good as any CGI work I've seen in movies.

Oh, and the chick in the top one will keep most people from noticing the problems at the other side of the photo.
