Reading Screenplays
I've read couple but they were short films and now I want to read some real ones. The ones I read were free because the people weren't famous they were struggling artists happy to get their work out into the open. But how excatly do you read these famous works. I've heard rumors of them being online, but so far I've found none (I've found dailogue, but not screenplays).
I'll check out my lilbrary but I have no idea if they offer these things.
Anyone ever read one? How?, and what ones?
Thanks a lot.
PS the ones I'm looking for (at the moment) are Seven pounds and Road to Perdition.
Thanks again anything is helpful.
How minimalistic a screenplay depends on who wrote it. You can come across some that appear pure dialogue, and then come across others that have every thing down from movement, tone of voice, to shot description. The screenplays you find online tend to be a lot minimalist, since they're spec scripts. If you scripts, especial final versions they're a lot descriptive since directors, producers, actors, and script doctors get they're hands on it to tool it to a specific vision. The only scripts I read on the ones you find on the bonus discs when you buy dvds, so I don't know where to get any other then that way. The library usually only provide how to screenplay guides, but you can find some that use specific scripts as a reference point.

Thanks I'll do that.
Most spec scripts are ridiculously boring and long. The only screenplays I'd recommend reading for enjoyment would be the shooting scripts for either Charlie Kaufman or Quentin Tarantino's films.

What is it you like about reading screenplays? I could never get into them. Seems to be taking minimalism way, way too far.
