That's right, ladies and gentlemen. Exactly seven days after Prom Number One, we have Prom Number Two. Discuss.

Gucci, the difference between you and me is you probably have like $400 more than I do right now after these proms.

And typically I have to save bread to afford the livestyle I live, which consists of having sex with models and driving Bentleys.

i never went to either my junior or senior proms in high school. i was a terrible shy, wall-flowerish meek guy. it wasn't until college that i bloomed and ruled the ballroom floor. no regrets though. to each his own.

i went to 2 high school dances, turnabout, where the girl i went with was going to hook up with a different guy who was already taken to turnabout, which was fine by me because i had a blast with the girl of the other guy
and prom, senior year, with my girlfriend of the time.
the one was alright, the other was horrid, prom is over-hyped.

Prom is overhyped, but so is Disneyland. And prom was somewhat fun for me. Plus it's such a social institutuion that if you don't go, there seems to be something a little off about you. Also, my mother is 50 years old and still half-regrets the fact that she skipped her senior prom. Also her bf was a cokehead, but that's a whole nother story.

Prom was great fun for me, though we didn't really stick around the dance too long.
G5, you're dropping cash for both tuxes, both dinners, both pictures, both tickets, both everything???? That's fucking insane if you are. Too much money for me, especially in my HS days.

Don't get leperecy, that would severely hamper efforts at pussy-fishing. Trust me, I know the ladies.

Rents, here is a log of what I payed for:

Tickets to my prom - 123
Two Tuxes - 247 (or thereabout)
My share of the limo - 75
Two corsages - 33

That comes to a grand total of Four Hundred and Seventy-Eight dollars.

The money left in my bank account that escaped the severe raping is still recovering from the shock.

$500 may seem a lot but those memories will last a life time. Soon you'll be in college and the credit card companies will service your lifestyle Smile

get one credit card, get your bill up to at least $200, but pay it off right away, cut up your card.
it will improve your credit. unless you establish some sort of credit, most places give you high interest loans, but after you're done with your credit card, you've established your credit. you'll do much better.

Yeah, I guess I could do that. I'm learning how to live within my means, so I think I'll be okay.

true, but should you every buy a car, or make payments on anything from school loans, to payments on a new computer to a car, you're still going to get a higher interest rate because no credit is almost as bad a bad credit.

I'm very lucky because I won't have any student loans to pay off, so that's a huuuuge burden I'll thankfully never have to carry. But I hear what you're saying. I'll no doubt end up with a credit card somewhere down the road. I mean, you don't hear about many people buying cars and houses with cash.

lol, nor do you hear of people saying "i'll take that house, charge it!" but i get what you're saying. i just don't like carrying cash. if i lose my card, i can have it cancelled lickety-split. of course, i only use my debit card, so no interest on that. the debit card is the smartest form of money i've seen. better than tea leaves as previously used by folk in asian regions, although the yen isn't any easier to use.

Well, I use my credit card to buy large ticket items for the chargeback features in case something goes wrong. Of course I make sure I have the cash to pay it off at the end of the month.

I went a little crazy with my first credit cards and learned my lesson $4000 later.

Sounds like Grade 5 will avoid my mistake.

BTW G5 have a great time tonight!

don't know where you live dropout, but you could have bought a decent tux for about 300 and had it for college and beyond.

i bought my tuxedo in 1989. polo. outlet. $249. i wear it every new years eve. call it my resolution. (yes, i still fit - jacket and trousers)!
