Oh, sorry. It's a Canadian thing. It's this one woman show about a little kid dealing with divorce. It's better than it sounds. It was created by Kristen Thompson (the nurse in Away from Her, does a lot of work with Sarah Polley) and it's kind of a big deal, tours all over the place and a movie was made as well. I didn't get to see Kirsten do it though, but I did get to see her best friend who helped create the show in the first place (and, whose husband directed the original) so at least it wasn't just some random. Anyway, it was great. Really, really, really great.

Here is an update of my life at the moment: It has been a bizarre week. What with all the striking/rioting from all corners. Teachers are striking because they want more pay, and students are striking in an attempt to save the independance of our school. We are nearing the end of first term of school, and stressful assessments are looming. I think I'm as prepared as I could be at this stage, so I'm not panicking yet. This weekend is a three-dayer, so I'm going to visit my grandmother in the country. This will be relaxing, even though I'll be cut off from civilization. I have also found myself a lovely boyfriend, so I'm very happy.

Fucking hell. As Sam said earlier, children at our school at "Striking" and "rioting" becuase there is a PROPOSAL to merge the two public schools in our area into one, thus making 2 campuses.
I am all for it, unless they can't make the transition smoothly. For example; the other school is to be the campus for senior students (years 10-12), that would be me. If we were to merge, students like me would be awfully disrupted and disoriented: they have little to no arts development in their school [no theatre/drama wing, not much of an arts block or music facilities]. This would piss me off a helluva lot. If it doesn't happen smoothly, no point, imo.
If the PROPOSAL does go ahead, the school/s are eligible for tons more funding, which public schools need.
ALSO. The children I mentioned are just that: no matter what age they are, they behave like children. We have been in the papers and on television the last 3 days, wth another "major strike" "planned" for tomorrow. These children have not been in school uniform, OR on school grounds while these interviews etc. have taken place. This is so embarrassing. It gives the WHOLE school a bad name. I mean fuck. If this shit's gonna happen, its gonna happen.
I'm sick of getting called scum when I walk around in my school uniform.
