Pointless Announcements

We have a TINY league! I mean, it's just one team for now. We're voting for co-captain in two weeks, so I'm sure she'll get that, but she holds grudges forever. And yeah, you hold "office" for a year.

I'm not sure I'll keep president, although I won that one by a landslide. It's a lot of work and I don't know how well it'll sit with people to have the president also be the captain. I mean really, there's not much power to be had, but it seems like there is. I wouldn't have a problem stepping down from president, though.

I talked to Josh tonight (my ex/ our coach) and he said she was pissed off about everything. She said she'd been on the team for a long time, etc, and he was like, "Well she has, too. You've both put a lot into the team and it came down to one vote. Besides, you're taking a leave of absence for work for 3 months. Do you think that'd really be fair to the team to have their captain gone that long?"

Mmm I had some delicious apple with cinnamon baked with rum for breakfast.

I didn't sleep AT ALL because no matter how large the bed, I still can't fall asleep if I'm not alone.

I am told I was blacked out for a couple minutes last night. And holy Christ it was the best sex of my life.

And we watched Through the Wormhole last night.

I need one of those fingerless gloves like Eliza Doolittle wears because my mouse hand feels like an ice block. I just need one because my left hand is fine.

I cannot find scotch tape anywhere in this house and it is a huge problem because I have all these presents I want wrapped under the tree today.

I really don't want to walk to the store in this rain! It is miserable out there.

But if I cannot find the tape that spoils the majority of my plan for the day, which was to lay out all the gifts I have already and make lists of what they are and who they are for so I can see what and who I still need to shop for and then put all the stuff I have already under the tree all pretty.

Why why must the one simple little thing I need disappear right when I need it? I bet the tape is hiding out with all the pens wherever they all took off to.

THIS IS NOT REALLY POINTLESS.

But it is an announcement that I should've already made. I made it in my head, but I guess I just now realized I hadn't made it here, where it belongs.

Okay Everyone is getting late christmas cards. Mostly because my shit has been a mess and I stalled and then more shit came up.
But you will all get something if I have your address.
And once Christmas is over I just have to make it through my birthday and things should even out.

I made the annoucments in my head already that I got ALECIA'S AND HATTIE'S cards!! I never announced it here either though.

They made me happy. I have them setting on the bookshelf with all the other cards.

Just finished with classes before break. I'm on a quarterly schedule, so it's still the middle of the quarter, but it'll still be a nice break. I had a critique today on my lightweight stools, and mine made it all the way through crit without breaking, which was really nice of it. It broke as soon as I got it back to my room.

Hahahaha! When I saw "stools" I thought of poohs and then reading the rest of that was hilarious.

I also just received Irina's card, and I have to say i love that girl more and more everyday.

I hate the Impossible Project.

I did not find the tape. I waited and waited for the weather to clear up and finally I walked six blocks in the blustery wind and rain and bought some and was soaked and shivering when I arrived home and within half an hour tops of getting back the wind and rain ceased and hasn't began again since.

Life.

I have given my number out to a few very cute girls. Lets see what happens.

23 years ago the Revolution started in Bucharest. The first city was, however, Timisoara (in the West), on the 16th.

I could not convince Lucy to go back to sleep at 6am. We're up and I put on the telly for myself. Lucy doesn't usually take any notice, but she was entranced by Pingu.

Also, a few days ago I made a wonderful discovery. In Deck the Halls, I finally understood that 'deck' comes from 'decorate'.

She's never seen them. I really do try not to put on telly for her. But I do have it on for myself when she's around.

The morning of my 18th birthday I made a big breakfast and watched the Teletubbies on tv. That's when we still had BBC Prime.

I think I'll settle for some paintball, followed by playing risk, and then some poker. First comes the uprising from military leadership, then leading a campaign on a global scale, followed by some economic negotiations.

Apparently, I speak French quite well, according to French people at the party I just got back from. The problem: I speak much more easily when I'm drunk than sober. When sober, I'm quite shy about speaking. So I really need to work on that, because I know now that I have some good skills in French speaking.

Liquid courage.

Even French people speak better French, when they are drunk.

I used to know a little French but I think I've forgotten it all.

I'll have to try next time I'm drunk, I suppose, to know for sure.

I recently almost broke up with someone I find otherwise perfectly dreamy because they taught me how to play Risk and never let me win. Not that I wanted him to let me win. I just wanted him to do his best and have it turn out to not be good enough to avoid getting crushed. By me.

Anyway, all of that sounds fun and I'm in but we won't be friends at the end of it.

I just remember that, "Je m'appelle Isaac," line. Also, "Je ne parle pas tres bien francais," if that's even correct. But then I got drunk in Boston and ran into this French dude who was traveling alone, and leapin' frogs' legs, Batman! Turns out those two years in high school French didn't exactly go to waste. Now I have a new Facebook friend and place to stay in Toulouse.

None of this was a surprise to me.
