First time I've let her paint on canvass, too (those are expensive!). I set up the paper like I usually do for her and she asked pretty pretty please could she paint on "one of those better things you paint on?"

Yeah I had a few comments on fbook about that. But the truth is toddlers like being held like that. Emma bugs me everyday to swing her around the living room by her feet. Then again she is a little monster.

I like Zoso too. A family friend was given the names Andreea Ioana when she was born, but everybody calls her Anio (pronounced Un-Ee-Oh). It sounds much better, aside from the fact that both those names are very common in Romanian. At some point my sister used to call me Irma, when she watched a cartoon show called WITCH, and one of the characters had that name.
My sister's name is Andrea, but we call her Andi (pronounced Ahn-dee). I wish I had a cool nickname, but my siblings just call me Sisser. My ex husband has always called me Perto, which is a mispronunciation of my maiden name. It was always meant as an endearment, though, and he still calls me that.

I changed my name to Amber when I was eight. Amber Rose is what my name was meant to be, but my grandma coerced my mom into naming me Andrea Lalainya, because she had read some book where the main character was a big slut and her name was Amber.
Nobody but a couple disrespectful and obnoxious unable to wrap their heads around that not being my name family members calls me Andrea. And the people I owe money to, as it is my legal first name.
Most people do not learn that is my "real' name until after knowing me for years and they maybe see a piece of mail and ask who it is for or answer my phone and it is someone with business asking for that name.
My hands shook a little when I wrote that confession just now.

Well I like Amber Rose, Amber. My Mom thought it would be awesome for my first and last initial to match. Winifred Jo Walerczak!! Really? She was going to name me Sandra Elizabeth, which I do like the Elizabeth part. I just hate Winifred. It makes me think of some doughty, old prude of a women. I feel your pain Amber.
