Oh hi. A song for you.
I feel guilty that I haven't contributed anything to this thread. Timberly, you were incredible as always. And Bloodsuger, that last song you played was awesome! I liked the guitar, of course, and the vocals kinda reminded me of Dave Mathews. Say what you will, I love The Dave Mathews Band.
I wish I could tune my guitar, let alone play it. Music theory always came so much easier than practical application. I was a decent singer for most of my youth. I'm sure a few thousand packs of cigarettes hasn't helped me in anything but my Janus Joplin impression.
Mom's gonna fix it all soon.
Thanks to you, Littlemiss, I have an audition for a band on Monday. I couldn't get anything to sound like a song on my guitar and blood on the strings just makes it worse and puts me in a bad mood. So, I found a workaround. We'll see how it goes. Maybe I will be able to put something in this thread after all.
Mom's gonna fix it all soon.
Mena!! That's awesome! :] I'm glad to have helped.
so, uh, where's the Gooch.
Josh is good people. did he get banned or something? he hasn't been in workshop either.
Here's a song I did for Matt... and well anyone else who believes Dylan is a fucking genius.

Tony, You are too cool for my school.

Humina humina humina
your voice is beautiful. great song.
fucking legend.
Matty.... (It's not that great.)
TIMBYYYYYYYYYY!
it was beautiful. but i wish you'd show us your face when you sing. you really suit singer Grace's stuff. more more more. give us a Falling or Flying or Apologies cover!
Here's my band and me performing a a couple of songs in Philly. It was our first show so there were a few mistakes but it was really fun.

Thought I'd bump this one with a link to an old band of mine's myspace page. There's only the one song, and it was recorded by me in my bedroom on an 8-track after the band broke up, and was left with just me and the lead guitarist.
I wrote this little baby, sang it, played rhythm guitar, bass, harmonicay, and pressed play on the terrible drum machine. This wasn't one of the songs we played as a band though. It was something I wrote for when we got new members, which never happened. But I'm still quite fond of it, especially lyrically.
I still really want to be the front man of a loud and rough rock 'n' roll band.
Have a listen if you want.

And, 'cause I gone got myself a case of the True Blood fever, I'm fixin' to sing Jace Everett's "Bad Things", so I might post that up at some point later.
I want to hear this.
Hang on. I've gotta head to work in an hour-ish, but I might record it on my brothers laptop before I leave.
All right. This definitely isn't the best. I haven't warmed up my voice or anything, and it's really too early in the day for singing, for me anyway, and it was the first take, but hope you dig it.
I swear I posted a comment in here. Anyway, sounds good Matty.
Matt you definitely should be in a loud rock band.
This thread is so cool! You're all so talented.
Also, whatever happened to Timberley? Busy with job/life?
And Derby. Derby stole her from us. I, for one, miss that sweet lil southern gal. And what a voice, huh?
Reminds me a lot of Fiona Apple, but smoother and with better tone.
Derby screwed us.
This is why we can't have nice things.
I don't know why this made me chuckle.
So, I stumbled across this little treat while browsing youtube:
Holy shit, Cam, that's really good! You sing really well, and the song was so nice.
oh goodness, y'all. :3
I think matty posted something I was too chicken to.
“if you want to be a bird,” you said once, “with colorful plumage and buoyant trills, you must also be ready for hollow bones."
It's true. I didn't just stumble upon it. I just posted it because I knew Cam never would because she was too scared and wasn't sure if it was good, which is silly because it sounds lovely. Great song, too. That's a beautiful soundtrack.
Now, just record the rest of it, Cam.
I dug it, especially how you smiled at the end in contentment.

That's lovely, cam. Yall all make me wish I could sing.
"I'm glad I live in the GPS era. In a different century, I would've set off to visit the other side of the village and wandered off into the mountains and been eaten by a carnivorous plant. Or discovered the Americas."
-LaJessica
Ditto.

Yeah, I love the little giggle and smile at the end. It's sweet.
That was really good. I guess you took my advice?
"A celibate clergy is an especially good idea, because it tends to suppress any hereditary propensity toward fanaticism." -Carl Sagan
"Am I cruel? Probably. Is she an idiot? Yes." -jane s.
I was laughing at my cat eating a large bug.
“if you want to be a bird,” you said once, “with colorful plumage and buoyant trills, you must also be ready for hollow bones."
Ditto this ditto. The more time passes, the more I wish I could sing.
thank you. and yes, imagining the camera naked helped ease the nervousness a little. I was still nervous though, I hope it doesn't show much.

You did great
I can barely sing with myself in the room.
will you sing with me in the room?
in my underwear?
“if you want to be a bird,” you said once, “with colorful plumage and buoyant trills, you must also be ready for hollow bones."
in my underwear?
only if they're on your head
You are very pretty and you sing well. I'm going to go crawl in a hole and deal with my jealousy now.
Mom's gonna fix it all soon.
there seems to be a cult singing dichotomy. I think we should have a karaoke night.
“if you want to be a bird,” you said once, “with colorful plumage and buoyant trills, you must also be ready for hollow bones."
Something about that was ridiculously adorable Cammie. Do you come in pocket sized so I can keep you around when I'm feeling blue?
You know in all the years I've been here I've never been sigged?
I mean, I'm not very tall.
“if you want to be a bird,” you said once, “with colorful plumage and buoyant trills, you must also be ready for hollow bones."
it's ok. he has deep pockets.
Missed you guys.

Hey! Welcome back. Also your link is broken
Thanks for the welcome! Sorry about the link, this should work: http://soundcloud.com/user4282138/bflat-melancholy-take2

That's so beautiful Adam. I love it.
Yes, really nice! How long have you been playing the piano?
This seems an appropriate place to plug my new song so here goes.
Thanks guys! I've been playing for about 4 years now, and it's crazy to think that it all started back here, posting covers of old favorites when I first learned how to play.
And Hattie, I really liked hypnosis highway! I'm assuming that's you singing, but were you playing anything too? All of the instruments sounded great too, especially the bass.

Thanks for listening to it
Yes, I was singing. I came up with the main riff but my boyfriend re-recorded it all and added all these fancy things on GarageBand whilst I was at work the other week. The drums were also done on Garageband because there's something wrong with our kit at the moment.
Interesting that you only started playing the piano four years ago - maybe there's still time for me!

Thanks, Pete.
Now it's your turn!
