NY Meetup Dinner Party
Everyone who is going to the New York Meetup!
I know this isn't the right forum, but since the bugs are still being worked out, and this is the only forum people are looking at now, I thought it best to post here.
I'd like to set up a big group dinner for us all to go to one night during the meetup, and I think I know of the perfect place. It's called Brother Jimmy's, and it is a famous mini-chain of BBQ places. The food is awesome BBQ/Southern Food...a bit pricier than a down-south one might be, but the food is great and comes in huge portions. It's not a fancy place and you don't have to dress up or be quiet. And there is a good bar for the drinkers. Anyway, they have party rates, and I can set it up. I just want to know if y'all are in. So please let me know.
Here's how it breaks down. Dinner + drinks for two hours = $22.95/person. Each additional hour is $9.95/person to keep drinking.
We can select three appetizers, three entrees, and three side dishes from which everyone will be able to choose. Below are each of the choices in each category. Please reply with your three choices for each, so I can determine the most popular choices.

here are my choices but I'm pretty easy food-wise so I'll probably be happy with anything
Appetizers: hush puppies, chicken quesedilla, BBQ wings
Entree: catfish, grilled chicken, pulled pork
Sides: mashed potatoes, mac & cheese, potato salad
Great idea Tom, count me in if this is thursday or friday. Saturday I probably can't make it. How many people do you need? If you need an extra person to meet a quota I can probably talk my wife into going.

i was thinking friday or saturday. itd be nice to include as many people as possible. i would guess friday would be ok with most people, and jase has already said saturday probably wont work for him, so please let me know guys if friday is ok with y'all. thanks.

i guess this is as good a place as any to let you guys know balthazar will be escorting me to meet-up festivities. most of you guys probably don't know him...but whatever, the more the merrier, right? anyway, he's a vegetarian so a non-meat option like mac n cheese would be nice. oh, he eats fish, too.

The Cult Meetup Dinner Primaries:
Appetizers
Early results in the Appetizer race show Hush Puppies have a solid lead with four votes and Onion Straws close behind with three. BBQ Wings, Chicken Quesedillas and Fried Green Tomatos are locked in a statistical tie with two votes apiece.
Entrees
Sliced Brisket and Pulled Pork are the clear frontrunners in this race and tom9d is projecting that both will secure spots at the NY Meetup Dinner, though as recent news has shown, anything can still happen. Fried Chicken is fighting for a spot with three votes and Catfish is battling it out with Grilled Chicken just to stay in this race.
Sides
This race is still up for grabs, folks. Potato Salad and Mashed Potatoes cling to a slight lead with three votes each, but a number of candidates are nipping at their heels with two votes - a pack that includes Cole Slaw, Mac & Cheese, Biscuits & Gravy, Baked Beans, Yams & Walnuts and Collard Greens. This is still anybody's race, and it is too close to call!
And remember everyone, tom9d is yet to cast his vote. He has been known to vote eratically in the past, and will likely cast his vote at the last minute, which could turn this race upside down!
