New Radiohead Album
The new Radiohead album, "Hail To The Thief," has been leaked online. I only seem to be able to get a few songs at a time before having to restart my computer (which seems to correct whatever's wrong,) but other than that it's a quick download.

I've heard about half the album now and I have to say that it's a weird mix of styles. It's still heavily electronic (probably even more so than the last two albums,) but the electronic element seems to be more integrated this time. There is a hint of OK Computer style layering and scope, as well as more of the jazz inspired guitar work that surfaced on Amnesiac (Knives Out, Dollars and Cents.) There is also quite a bit of piano and even some welcomed outbursts of more conventional rock guitar (but just a few.) And that's just the first half. It's impossible for me to formulate an opinion as of now. I have a feeling this will require many listens. I'm off to restart my computer and download the rest.
I just downloaded it (from another site), and am in the process of listening to it now. I agree. It's impossible to formulate an opinion yet.

And it's the entire album. But you must use a download manager to download it, otherwise it will stop downloading after a minute. By using Download Accelerator you can resume it after it stops, and it only takes about 2-3 minutes for each half of the album.
But I can't download it if ALL the sites with it don't work! And how do I get Download Accelerator?

It has many download links there. You probably don't need Download Accelerator.
Where EXACTLY on the msgboard? I searched for the downloads, but I didn't find any matches.
Treefingers has some people posting stuff, but a lot of it doesn't work. I've gotten the first 4 songs, so far... Likin it, for sure.

I like the album, but I'm sure it will grow on me as I listen to it more and more (constantly

But I can't help turning on Parnoid Android and wondering where this is on the album.
"Hail to the Thief" is really weird, because it seems to actually be a blend of the styles of "OK Computer" and the "Kid A/Amnesiac" sessions.
But I'm sure it will grow on me, just as Kid A and Amnesiac did.
Amnesiac, by the way, is my favorite of the albums.

Hmm, did anyone else come across that weird opera-ish version of Wolf at the Door? It's really strange, but.. wow... it's amazing. It's even better than the real version, I think, heh. Well, they're both great, but yeah.. It's just so odd, I adore it. It's only half of the real song, though.

I've probably listened to the whole album about three times by now, and I'm just starting to wrap my head around it. Word on the street is that these are unmastered copies of the songs, and that the actual finished product sounds even better. I have to say, there are a few songs I am still iffy about, but as a whole, the album is really starting to excite me. Some of the songs are flat out amazing. I think I love music more than anything.
Are you guys still going to by the album, even though you already downloaded it?

Hell yes, I'm buying this album. Unless Radiohead took a serious turn into the crapper, I'd buy any disc with their name on it. It's just good, high quality shit.
I think, after listening to the album numerous time, that it's safe to say that it's great.
And 2+2=5 is awesome.

my least favorite song on the album is "i will" [others seem to be raving about it] but otherwise the 13 other songs are as close to perfect as you can get. anyone listen to "backdrifting" yet? its definately different but i like it.

I have to say i think this album is amazing. I love Radiohead and i hope that people dont start giving this album away on Kazaa or something like that. I hope that radiohead gets their dues for their work. I kind of feel ashamed for taking this album but i cant help myself. The idea of hearing the NEW radiohead is to much for me.

i'm buying it anyway to support the band. what we have now isn't the final edition of the album. according to nigel godrich the band "wasn't happy" with the versions of the songs that are out now, and the final versions have been corrected.
to me it seems, the songs in here really can't get much better.

I agree i think the songs that i have heard are outstanding. I too am going to buy the album when it comes out. This will just tide me over until the real deal comes out.
