Well, I'm Scottish, Welsh, English and 1/64th Native American on my dad's side, but I'm not quite sure how it all divvy's up. I'm a quarter German, and a quarter Scottish on my mom's side. Mostly an island boy. Me and Miss Cleo are like this! *hold's up fingers several feet away* Irie, mon!
Well the only way I can say where I'm from is to tell y'all a story;
my great grandparents (on both sides) were born and mostly bought up in India, but sometime in their late teens (? i think) a whole bunch of em were "exported" to Kenya, Africa because these dudes needed cheap labour to build a big old railway.
My grandparents and parents were born and bought up in Kenya, but around my parent's late teens, they moved to England because the political system in Kenya sucks ass, and have stayed here since, but i still have (ALOT of) relations in India and Kenya.
so yeh I was born and bought up here in England, so I'd say i was British-Kenyan-Asian.
whew
ps I'm constantly told that I'm really "English" cuz i gots the accent and i dress in western clothes. People say that cuz they think it's a compliment which REALLY pisses me off becuase it isn't.
ok that didnt really make any sense but i know what i mean!
cccccccccccccccuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuute

irish, german, scottish, english, and probably some other european heritages that have snuck into the mix over the years
Scottish, Irish, Italian
In that order.
i respect your honesty, but i detest what you're being honest about.
mexican, dutch/irish and probably some other junk..
No fair! i wish i had spanish or italian blood, they're so much kooler than indians!
You got that right.

Family is German on both sides. On my father's side, our name goes back to the 12th Century - we dropped the von and sort of americanized the last name after WW 1. Prior to that, my ancestors lived somewhere on the Danish pennisula. Prior to that still, they were Wikings.
Polish, Qatarian, American indian, Israeli... maybe more that I don't know of
Irish, Swedish, French Canadian, Czeck, Cherokee Indian. Don't ask me how that happened.
same here framstedt, statistically i'm about 98% german, 1% irish and 1% other. our last name also got americanized, but no one can pronounce it properly still.
i'm used to it
dead teddy bear dude, we rule. i can't tell you how many times my name is misspelled, much less mispronounced. think shtett, spelled stedt. no one gets it.
A mix of Irish and, um....yeah.
Apparently the British royal family had a German name but they changed it to Tudor when WW1 broke out.
Bah.
think "why rick"
and you've got my last name
wirick
still, i get "mr. wick" "mr. work" etc...
makes it easier when telemarketers call,
"is mr. wick there?"
"nope, no one lives here by that name"
"oh, sorry, bye"
I know a lot of "Dutch" folks that were once German. Von to Van, par example.
That's excellent, DTBD. Being in sales, I love it when telemarketers call me. They haven't a clue who they're dealing with when they're speaking to me. When the bank calls, please keep in mind that I have told the bank never to call me unless there's a problem with my account, I put on a phony accent, think Indian, and say, ohthatismybankisthereaproblemwithmyaccounts? They usually hang up after i start ridiculing them.
do you know what part of germany your family comes from? vater aus preussland - mutter aus schleswig hollstein.
from the bit of research my brother did, my last name before it was americanized was Von Wyrich, which meant something to the effect of "friend of the king/ruler"
let's hope that name was around before WWII
hey, i'm not that german, heh. i would have taken german in H.S. but they removed that from the circulum after WWII.
so i took spanish instead.
german irish scott... i think. i like to speak in an english accent too. so i'm british/englander too.
haven't mastered the australian lingo just yet, but i'm getting there. i think it's weird... is anybody really american? like, i mean, all the blood goes back to foriegn countries mostly. and if we were american, we'd just say indian. golly, i should have paid more attention in school
australian lingo?-- what australian lingo? no one told meeeeeee

You Aussies talk funny.
we do ?
life's pretty straight without vidalia :You_Rock_
Yeah, you do, but accents are pretty hot, so we'll let it slide.
I had a friend up here from New Zealand last year, so I tested out my Aussie accent. He said it wasn't too bad, though it had a hint of England in it. I think I do ok Scottish, English, and Irish (sometimes) accents too, but maybe that's just me. I picked up my share from movies and such.
yeah, accents are cool.
we,.. ( as in me + some friends ) when we go out- we put on accents to pick up girls. its so funny. and we assume identities of current and former Sheffield Wednesday players. Im usually Mark McKeever and Stegs is Owen Morrison- but he's likely not to 'be' Owen again, as Owen is now a pig. for shame.
life's pretty straight without vidalia :You_Rock_
accents rule! i have an australian teacher (who is a giant : see attatched pic) who said my aussie accent was pretty good. i can do pretty much all the northern english ones, and i do a damn fine welsh one too.
i went to this house party and because i didn't know anyone there accept the host and the person i went with i spoke with a different accent in every room. which was fun. weeellll it was funny at the time!
yeh check out the pic he's like 6'7" and i'm about 5'2"
Do you think your teacher appreciates having his picture posted here? ha ha.
I'm English and Scottish. But, when I'm stoned, I sound Australian, apparantly. I don't understand how that works, seeing as I sound very well brought up English girl.
Sexy accents- Irish(ha ha, that Irish dude in Titanic), Scottish (John Hannah, Sliding Doors),American (Edward Norton, Jimmy Pop Ali),Australian(your mum.)
HolyShit- Ruby-- he must be a Queenslander! Goddam Savages!

the only accents i can manage with some authority are boston, southern mass, maine. there are subtle differences between the 3, trust me.
id just like to post a part of a little exchange SnowWhite and i just had... i found the 'convict thing' very cute...
SnowWhite: where in australia do you live?
Me: Sydney- the one and only
SnowWhite: Were your ancestors convicts from bulgaria? or what
Me: haha
SnowWhite: or was it only the english sending prisoners there.
Me: im half BGR/ part Sth African.
Me: not convicts- just immigrants
