Movie Review: Daredevil
Daredevil
Starring: Ben Affleck, Jennifer Garner, Colin Farrell, Michael Clarke Duncan, Jon Favreau, Scott Terra
Directed By: Mark Steven Johnson
Summary: Ben Affleck plays Matt Murdock, who as a boy was left blind after being hit by a radioactive isotope. Although his eyes no longer function, Murdock's other senses become superhuman, especially a secret, radar-like ability he develops. Years later in New York, Murdock works as an attorney by day and a crime-fighting vigilante by night, using his special skills to become the city's trusty superhero, Daredevil, battling his archnemesis, the mob boss Kingpin (Michael Clarke Duncan), and the dangerous Bullseye (Colin Farrell). Murdock then falls for a mysterious woman (Jennifer Garner), but little does he know; by night she is Elektra, a scythe-wielding woman out to kill Daredevil.
Gambit’s Review: You know what? Fuck critics. They are pasty, fat, old, white men that love movies that are all about extremely boring love stories, or movies that not a single person has heard of or seen. They constantly give good films, bad reviews simply because they are not award winning material. Daredevil is not an award winner, Daredevil is far from an award winner, but the movie freaking rocks. The fight scenes are not over done, they are a perfect length, though some will disagree, and very well planned. Ben Affleck gets a perfect score from me, no one could have played Daredevil better. In fact, the entire cast was beyond perfection. Garner, Farrell, and Duncan were superb. Farrell was the best villain I have seen in years. He owns anyone and everyone!
(Not fighting wise) I am hoping for a sequel, but that will probably depend on the money brought it from this film, so go see it.
By the way, stay through the credits. ;)
10/10

Where he back flips and dodges the ninja stars.
Heh, I didn't even realize that. What do you expect though?

Wouldnt be too hard. I hate Tobey Maguire so maybe that helped me see all the flms flaws while the rest of America kept going and going etc.
Jennifer Garner is totally wrong for Elektra. Don't get me wrong, I'm not hatin' on her, I'm sure she's great on "Alias". But coming from a girl who used collected the Frank Miller/Bill Sienkewicz single issues and worshipped Elektra Assassin...Elektra should have been more exotic, less girl-next-door. I'm thinking more Eliza Dushku or Asia Argento.
 i am a beautiful and unique snowflake
Gucci: I agree, Bullseye looks way cooler in the comic (so does Elektra too, but I think I've established how I feel about my beloved character).
I am annoyed with comic movie costumes in general. I understand it's hard to translate the look of comics onto film, but does every frickin' comic book/action movie have to get their wardrobe from the Matrix garage sale? Everyone looks like they're heading to the local leather bar after the movie wraps for the day (although, hey, maybe they are).

this does look quite appalling. Affleck = cancer. Unless its Casey.

It's cool to hate things in the mainstream!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Anyway, the movie was fucking good, and Elektra was perfect. Her scenes were very fucking good and she was a highlight of the film. The whole thing was very well done, and there are a lot of shots straight out of the comic. I mean down to the lighting, they truly make them look like drawings as opposed to live action frames.
YOU FUCKED THE WORST, NOW FIGHT THE BEST!
In it Affleck plays a man blinded by radioactive material while saving a man's life.
Um, sorry BBC, but no, try to get your plots straight.
And Adversary, Elektra wasn't the best part of the movie...it was definitely bullseye, I love the diversity of Colin Farrell's acting ability. He is definitely the new Brad Pitt lol. The girls love his looks and the rest love his acting.
i really did not like this movie at all. Ben Affleck can afflick my ass because i think he is the worst actor i have seen in a long time. When he says " Justcie is Served." i started laughing out loud. He sounded horrible trying to seem tough making his voice deeper. I love DareDevil in the comics but this movie was not good. How can you guys like the scene when D.D. first meets Grarner and they fight in the playground? That is the worst fight secen i have ever seen. There jumping around on the tetter-totters (sp?), that looked horrid. Any way i liked seeing the X-men 2 trailer, that movie is hopefully going to be really good.
You know im going to lose
Gamblings for fools
But thats the way i like it
I dont want to live forever
I agree with you, the X-Men 2 trailer looks great. In fact, it looks stunning. I am really looking forward to it.
His costume is better in the comic?! wtf?!

A guy I know said Colin Ferrel was the best part of the movie even if he overacted. This true?
Littering and... littering and...littering and... littering and... Smoking the reefer
Maybe I'm just old-school about my comic characters. People who actually read the comics first get attached to the original representations. In fairness, maybe tights just don't translate well to celluloid. I'm just sick of them all looking like they belong to same white trash biker gang.
Anyway, this is a less dork-o-rific pic of the original BullsEye.
 i am a beautiful and unique snowflake
Colin Farrell looks like a KKK guy, sans the white sheets.
Im kind of against comic to film efforts, cos they are dodgy s-rfx cash ins. if someone made a thoughtful one, im thinking Aronofsky's alleged Batman:YearOne, i could support that.

My problem with this is the film was made solely for the profits. And that one seen in the end of the trialer on tv was stolen directly from Spiderman.
