Movember
I've started a Movember team to raise money for cancer.
Here's my profile:
http://us.movember.com/mospace/5284173
What this means is:
1. I'm actually going to shave! I know, right.
2. Except I'm growing a mustache. Even weirder.
3. I'm trying to get donations to support the cause.
I think it's a really cool thing to do. It's just for the month of November.
Ever since the Lance Armstrong thing, I'm sure testicular cancer funds have taken a hit. I usually do Relay for Life every year and I didn't do it this year. So, at least this gives me a chance to do something.
If you'd like to help, I'd really appreciate it. And if you'd like to join my team (Team ManArchy), I'd really appreciate that too. Richard Thomas already jumped on. How often can you say you have a world famous author on your team that has been published alongside Stephen King and Peter Straub? Reason enough to join my team or donate!
I'll be posting pictures tomorrow.
I'll send you the hipster glasses I used for my halloween costume so you're not so hipster naked.
I think that is really awesome that you are doing something to raise awareness.
I remember back in 2000 when my grandma first had breast cancer I had never known of anyone who had, but in the past decade+ so much awareness has been raised that I realise now that was mostly due to taboo about publicly talking about it. Now a days people are so much more open and I realise that the disease had affected pretty much everyone I know, whether personally, or by a loved one having gone through it.
We do not hear nearly as much about similar issues that have to do with mens health and the things that affect them and while I would like to think that this is because men have a far lower rate of being stricken with a cancer like testicular or prostate or such, I suspect and worry it is more because of stigma and taboo of speaking of it openly in polite company.
Having sons, it is certainly something I would like to make sure is open to discussion about without being considered embarrassing as well as that the research into cures and prevention are well funded.
So yeah. Good on you for doing something to help with awareness.
Thanks Amber!
So to donate money we go to your profile?
Yes ma'am!
I'll try to get to that sometime this week. I have to figure out my budget since I went a little crazy this past week.
Cool Thanks!
I just donated. I forgot to post a message on the page but basically my grandpa was diagnosed with prostate cancer a couple years ago and had to go through radiation treatment and take all kinds of horrible medication. He was fortunate enough to have caught it early and I was proud that he took the necessary steps to a full recovery.
Wow, I'm glad he beat it.
Yeah, it was strange to think that he had the cancer because he is so active, and in great shape for his age. I can't wait to give him a hug the next time I see him. I really miss my family. I love my job but I love my family more and I feel like I've been missing out these past couple months.
Sorry for going off tangent.
Anyway hooray for beating prostate cancer!
The ManArchy Team is growing. We're getting serious now.
I'll be posting an update pic this weekend.
And ManArchy is also doing an article about it soon.
^ Mods, are you gonna make this go away? I hates the trolling wordy thinga majig!
Whatever Whore!
What are you talking about Winnie?
I deleted it.
Pete, progress pictures maybe?
I'm gonna trim up and post one today. I wanted to wait until after I go to the gym. Honestly, I'm finding a mustache embarrassing. haha
You need to curl that stache man.
“The man of knowledge must be able not only to love his enemies but also to hate his friends.”
― Friedrich Nietzsche
It's only a little more than a shadow. I ain't curling nothing!
Having a mustache makes me feel like a tool. Don't mind the sweaty looking hair, just got back from the gym.

You're on your way to looking like Magnum PI hehe AWESOME!
Thanks Pete for taking that away.
and I'm diggin the stache.
Whatever Whore!
It's not too bad...yet!
I reckon all the ladies would still smooch you.
Sarah thank you so much for the donation!
Also, why aren't we facebook friends?
No worries.
I think we were but I unfriended a bunch of people when i was really miserable a few months back.
Ah okay. I went to thank you on facebook and couldn't find you.
Haha, Magnum Pete.
