So for a while there was a giant walled city in Hong Kong and no law or government ever goes there and it was full of secret illegal noodle factories. And some Germans did a documentary.

They demolished this thing in the early 90s. But here, have this:

This is from Hong Kong's oldest public housing estate, where people live in 100 rooms that are 100 square feet in size.

I read that this is what they based the rougher parts of Gotham on in Batman Begins.

And this is what every city is going to look like in a hundred years.

Funny, I was just reading about the Walled City two nights ago. I also read about what Justin said and that Nolan based some of Gotham City on this place. This thing is amazing. Some scenes from JCVD's Bloodsport were shot here too.
