OK. after investigation i discovered that the IP addresses for jane s and john s are NOT the same. so they're coming from two different computers and, what's more, two different hosts. this is possible if you have more than one computer with different internet hosts in your house, jane, but probably not likely.
if you still suspect your brother, PM me, and i'll give you the specific info.
