It's 2012! January Picture Thread.
There was an exhibit at my Library a couple of years ago of paintings and photographs of industrial items. Factories and rusty docks and lonely forgotten materials and such.
It really surprised me how much aching beauty was captured in these scenes.
Made me start to see the world differently.
I love abandoned things. There's a house up the road from where I grew up that I used to go to all the time. I went back a couple of years ago to take some photos and it had finally caved in completely. I wish I had got some better photos before that happened.
There are a few places I love to get into around here, I just worry about getting in trouble. That's one thing I really have to do; stop worrying and just do it.
Wow. Abandoned human made ruins are the best. They have such a strange beauty about them, I can't resist rotting barns and old stone buildings. I love the abandoned churches and parts of the ghettos around here in downtown Columbus. I also love the buildings in Detroit, they're so large and they beckon every time I see them. I need to get back to urban explorations.
Also the mental hospitals / housing campus' are beyond spectacular in New England.. though I haven't explored any out here yet.
You only get in trouble if you get caught, so don't get caught. Plus, you know it's a real adventure if you do get in trouble. I want to get a group of people together and go to the abandoned theme park with the fallen ferris wheel somewhere in Ohio I keep hearing about.

This. I would love this.

Yes! I'll bring my camera. oh the things we could explore. Field trip time!!

Chenoa, two things:
1) You're baby boy is huge!! I seems like it was only last month that you were willing him make his entrance into the world!
2) Do you have a website where you host all of your pictures? I want to browse them and see about maybe buying some prints form you.

I know, he's not even growing that much, weight-wise, but he's so close to crawling and might even go straight to just walking instead!
I don't have a site like that yet. I want one, but with limited time and resources, I haven't been able to get around to it. I started uploading photos to photobucket, so maybe I can keep that up and send you a link? I'm pretty scatterbrained. I have a photoblog I'm trying to keep up with daily this year, a bunch of photo sites I've joined, but never put all my photos into, and a website with very little content that has ads all over, so it's not so professional. I need to get my shit together.

Do you have a flickr account? It lets you upload good size images for archiving purposes. Its much more user friendly than photobucket in my opinion. I use photobucket for things I want to post on here and flickr for everything else. There is a limit to how much you can upload, but a pro account is relatively cheap and you can upload as much as you want. You can also make the settings so that people can download the original size of a photo and print it themselves if you want to. I think its something like $25 a year.

Yes! I'll bring my camera. oh the things we could explore. Field trip time!!
My good friend Erin, who lives in Amherst (OH), got access to this park for a day last year. It's called Chippewa Lake. Let me swipe a few pictures from her Facebook...

Also: I usually go to Ohio twice a year. I have a lot of family in Cincinnati/Newport and Milford. Every few years I get out to Columbus too

This looks like where I belong. Oh my stars. I don't really know where Newport/Milford are but I do know where Cincy is. I'm horrible with directions around here, I guess I should get that figured out.
Your friend is so lucky!

I think I did at one point. When I was deciding about a site to upload my photos, I believe the deciding factor was size. I don't like shrinking my photos, in case I decide to get a large print. But that may have changed by now. I'll have to look into it again. And $25 a year is a great deal.

I don't see anything about friends being able to print from my photos, just me. I have a friend who owns a print shop, though, so I could see if it's possible for him to print from my collection and have it sent to you, if that sounds like something you'd want to do.

Newport is just the other side of the river in Kentucky, across from Cincy
My aunt lives in the hills of Newport and you can see into Great American Ball Park from her house! Milford's about 25 miles away from Cincinnati.I love Ohio way too much.
But yeah, Erin was super lucky. One of her friends got in touch with the guy who owns the gate key and for $10 each they got to explore all day.
The pictures remind me of Spirited Away. I want to go too.
ANYWAYS, 2012 PICTURES

Reds shirt. Ohiophile.

Drunken oven-pizza-mishap-new-years burn on my right arm, friendship bracelet from Irina on my left.
Are the scissors broken in your house, son?
Raise the roof Sammy!
OH! Before I forget to say it, I totally met a Sam doppelganger the other night! It was bizarre. She had brown hair instead of red, but she reminded me so much of you.
I'm actually growing out the red to go back to my brownish roots, so maybe she was future-Sam!
Are the scissors broken in your house, son?
God damn, I leave for a month and I dont even know where to catch up. I saw Tuffy bleeding all over the place, that was neat.
My adventures started off by getting drunk, fat kid starting a fight, he got punched hit with a bottle, hit a couple more times, then he called the cops. I blame
Carlo Rossi.

Friend of mine turned 30, so we had a fancy party.

Went to a Punk show at a laundry mat, more cops.

Beached out for New Years.

It was classy

OH Crashed a Holliday party and took a swing at there pinata.

Found this thing at the store

and made some new friends.

and just now realized the amount of black I wear.
Not black

Too many pictures? Sure.
As your attorney, my advise to you is to start drinking heavily(er).-Tuffy
anytime I see that noah has posted in a picture thread I get excited because I know it's going to be awesome and then I get sad because his life is so much cooler than mine.
“if you want to be a bird,” you said once, “with colorful plumage and buoyant trills, you must also be ready for hollow bones."
Yeah, Noah wins all the life awards.
I thought there would be more nudity.

Nice hat, Noah.

Super awesome Birthday/Christmas gift from Camille!

And inscribed to me by the author!

Taken Christmas day, technically. But it's the most recent of mine.
Also, check it.

You know in all the years I've been here I've never been sigged?
The guy forgets where he left his nekkid pics.
Noah just makes me hate my life a lil more and here's proof as to why

This oven can suck my dick
I think Noah makes everyone feel jealous. I'm always happy to see people living life to it's fullest. I need to take a page out of that book.

This is a sink.

I put a face on today. I felt like seeing what I could do and whether it would just look trashy. The picture doesn't really show the gradients, but this is me with more make-up than I ever typically put on. I think I look like my sister.

I'm not nekkid, I'm wearing a towel.

You look pretty and very very far from trashy.
This.

I have no idea what any of those are because we don't have Annie's but it looks like you were telling the truth.

This is a sink.
Yes I know that is a picture of the sink. If I posted pictures of the oven you'd have Sylvia Plath nightmares for weeks.
Ok technically this is from December but its the most recent one online (available to me) at this time. Me and my baby girl.

And for fuks sake this is a really old pic I just decided to upload to FBook the other day.

FOR THE UNBELIEVERS IN SHOUTBOX!!
I have to put all those items on the shelves at work everyday. Now I know who to blame.

You guys are too kind.
McKay - That is awesome. I want some bunny gummies now.
Jaz - My oven probably looks just as bad, or maybe worse. I've dropped so much crap in there and just let it burn up.
Zack - She is so adorable! And she looks so much like you. I love her little jacket!

Baby stuff from Barbwig:
This is from out mini road trip:
Kapiti Island:
Bloke's folks and my Grandma live around this area, it's about a 40 minute drive away. Bloke and I tried to go in his Dad's boat to the island, but we got stuck and had to get towed back to the beach!
Barbwig's the best. All of that is adorable!
Little girl stuff! So cute, I want one!

By the way, I love that dress too.
I don't want to bother with quoting all of the pictures.
Chenoa you look very pretty.
Zack's little girl looks just like him, I love her scowl she always has. Makes me smile.
