hahahaha.
Perfect response.
Oooh jeez. Yeah, sorry about the Enz thing.
Matt, so you sail from Melbourne to Auckland to Sydney? How long does that take?
I've been to Aussie a few times, three times to Melbourne. An ex and I drove from Sydney to Melbourne, stopping for a night in Canberra and a night on the coast.
I think after my family visit from Geelong I'll try and do a trip to Melbourne next year. If we are all still speaking to each other after this little reunion.
We're flying from Sydney to Auckland and then cruising from Auckland back to Sydney. It'll take four days on the boat to get back to Sydney, no stops. Should be fun. Never been on a cruise before. Or been overseas.
I keep thinking.. why the hell do they want to go on a cruise in winter?... the I remember all that stuff about the hemispheres.
IT'S TOTALLY SUMMER HEREEEEEEEEEEEE!

I'm not jealous now, because it is christmas, give me a week... I'lll be soooooo evnvious.
Oh. I posted a photo of my local beach to bring home my point, but it doesn't seem to be there. Here ya go:

And then there was this on the other side of the beach, around near the harbour:

That's your local beach?! Clear the couch, I'll be right there.
You know in all the years I've been here I've never been sigged?
Yeah, the top picture is of what is referred to as "South Newi", and then there's the baths, which you can see pretty clearly (the massive, convict made circle). And then, where the Pasha Bulka ran aground (did that get over to your news channels?) is known as Nobby's beach. You can see the harbour over the other side of the beaches too.
Didn't get it over here, but I haven't been following the news super closely lately. There was some sort of high speed chase / shoot out by my house last night, not sure what it was about.
You know in all the years I've been here I've never been sigged?
It wasn't recently. It was in 2007, during this massive, out-of-character storm we had. There was some major flooding that storm, and I was thankful to be above ground. The main street of Newcastle, Hunter Street was waist deep. All the business people were swimming around, looking for their cars that got washed away. The SES (state emergency services) were riding jet skis around, rescuing people and riding them back to their homes. Crazy times. Heaps of shit got trashed.
This is a pretty cool photo. The guy is standing on a jetty, which is normally a couple of meters above the sea level. Classic.

This is all exciting because we don't really get crazy natural disaster weather down here. Except for the scorching heat that people say is unlike any other heat in the world. We had an earthquake here in '88, and there hasn't been on since. Well, there was one out at sea a while ago, and we were supposed to get tremors, but there wasn't much felt, really.

This is why we can't have nice things.
Sounds pretty nice, but it's a little ridiculous you need to get a passport for that, no?
Can't believe that Pasha Bulka thing was already that long ago - seems like it was last year or something!

What is that big circle?

hahahah.... no.
