Hypersigils
I'm wondering if anyone here has any experience using hypersigils. I'm reading Grant Morrison's Invisibles and really want to create a hypersigil of my own. I've been doing sketches for the story and the character but I still haven't named them yet. Given the power of words, I'm nervous about giving the character a name that elicits bad luck or something. If anyone knows anything about this or has experimented themselves with it I'd love to learn more.

Have you any experience with smaller works? Because if not you're trying to build a spaceship without ever having folded a paper airplane.
This is why we can't have nice things.
I was thinking the same thing, but I wasn't sure. So I erased that part of my post.
I don't know much about magic.
I'm not sure that Grant's hypersigil for The Invisibles was totally serious. It had the air of "tongue in cheek."
I don't know what this is all about. But I can make a mean paper airplane.
I think that we all tell stories about ourselves in our head and those stories influence our lives. I'm looking to tell a different story for myself. I think a story involving words and art word be a fun way to tell it to myself. Even if it involves "magic". I'm just curious about any subconscious ramifications to watch out for. Maybe only I can answer that though...

Then maybe you should just read Awaken the Giant Within or Unlimited Power by Anthony Robbins. It sounds like that's more what you're looking for.
And, no, I'm not being sarcastic. That's what the majority of the content of his books is - how the words we use affect who we are.

I read an interview with Grant Morrison where he talks about it. You can google "Pop Mag!ck." It's the thing he wrote for one of the disinformation guides on magic. It's on the web in pdf form, you'll just have to search for it. I think he explains in there.
But I don't understand what you want to use it for...
