Slut.

It's not being slutty if you're doing it to keep in shape.
Yeah, then it's called dedication. And it's admirable!
I finally got back to a 57 cm (22.4in) waist after years of being over 60. I know it's the stress related to the exam and I'll most likely put it back on, but I'm happy for now.
22 in waist?! Shit I wish...not really I like my waist.
Hello, I'm tiny, remember? And it's a pain when shopping for jeans or skirts.
Yeah I'm like an inch taller than you,but yeah I guess you are slimmer too. I know what a pain it is to shop for clothes, especially since I love wearing jeans.
So tiny! Irina = Thumbelina!
Exam time used to make me eat more.
Because I've been ill this week I hadn't gone swimming until tonight. I did 40 lengths ... would've done more but rushed back for XFactor (I'm a loser I know).
At the beginning of October I switched my workout goals to more of a muscle gaining routine.
In the fall, I start switching things around a little to start gaining lean muscle.
In the winter, it's more muscle gaining, with lower reps.
In the spring, I switch to start leaning out.
In the summer, my main concentration is to hold on to the muscle I gained in the winter and to get as "cut" as I can.
I think it's important to cycle your goals like that. Otherwise you hit too many plateaus and it's boring.
So now my workout is:
Weights 3 days a week
- Day 1: Chest, Shoulders, Triceps (pushing muscles) - keeping the reps between 8-12
- Day 2: Legs - keeping the reps between 8-12
- Day 3: Back and Biceps (pulling muscles) - keeping the reps between 8-12
I also start each workout with a power move (I guess that's what it would be called) Barbell Bench (day 1), Heavy Squats (day 2), and Deadlifts (day 3).
I leave a day of rest between each weight workout.
I do a stretching workout 1-2 times a week. Do Muay Thai once a week. And only add in an extra cardio day if I notice I need to lean out a little.
In a couple months (probably starting in December), my split will be the same, but I will lower the rep ranges on all of the exercises to 6-8 reps and add more power moves.
That's cool. I like how you have exercise down to a science. Wonder what the girl equivalent of that would be... I guess the same, just not as intense.
Anyway, did you end up not fighting?
I DID go paintballing that day. I ran and crawled around with a fake gun for 4 and a half hours which I think was a pretty good workout if only because my terror kept my heart rate up.
So you were on all fours for four hours, taking balls to the face? Had you never done that before?
I'm a terrible person.

Unimpressed? What can I say? I'm new to this.
It must take years to be as well conditioned as you.

You have no idea.
Si vis pacem, para bellum
By that, I mean how much it burns... not how many years it takes to be as well conditioned as me... wait...
Si vis pacem, para bellum
BURN!
The self inflicted burn. Rarely seen in the wild except for when Isaac goes camping.
Might as well give me matches and alcohol... or just alcohol. I'll find a way.
It'd be pretty great if we all went on a hiking trip... for health... and reading by campfires 'n' shit. xec8 could come out of hiding and join in... maybe sing or play an instrument... or something. Idk. It's all pretty pleasant and awesome. My mind is wandering again.

Now I want a campfire and hot tea or mulled wine.

I told you guys I wasn't going to fight! I secretly wanted to. I couldn't even make it to the match to watch my team...
Trial and error. That's all that works. Remember I'm 32, so I've had a while to figure out what works for what I want. And hopefully me posting some things helps some people avoid the error part.
edit - but I still try new things. I find ways of sticking them in. So they don't ruin my progress if I don't like them. But if they work - bonus!
This winter I plan on trying something like 5X5's - 5 sets of 5 reps. I think I've done it before, but I don't think I gave it 100% when I did.
Ohhh right. But 5X5 reps... you're going to be huge!

In my head, when I read this... you sounded sooooo high.
I'm not a big fan of camping but I do like campfires. But those are neither healthy nor fitful since they often lead to s'mores.
I will never be huge! lol
I don't want to be huge... I like the size I am, it's about shaping what I have and maybe adding a little bit more.
But when do you decide to stop adding? I'm skipping out on the gym today because I'm bad...well I had to deep clean the house today because it was getting kinda yuck.
Without tons of supplements and steroids, you really can't add that much muscle weight naturally. So as long as my main concern is to stay lean, I don't have to worry about getting huge. I can get strong, but you don't really get that much bigger naturally.

Nope. Drunk. Also, s'mores are just another reason this has to happen.

This blog has interval workouts that are pretty awesome. They remind me of some of the stuff from p90x and Rushfit. Also the girl is amazing.
She's the girl PGoutis01.
What do you mean?
Her abs and boobs scare me.
Right? I like my ladies to be at least a little soft.
Si vis pacem, para bellum
yeah or at least look soft. I workout and my body gets pretty solid but I don't look like someone carved muscles into my body.
You work out a lot. She works out a lot. She's the girl version of you.
Also, the sky is blue and s'mores are tasty.
Quit talking about s'mores cuz I really want some now.
Do you there's an exercise that makes her boobs so perfectly spherical?
ha yeah it's called the tassle twirl
Haha.... and thanks for quoting my typo. I can always count on you. <3
You're welcome
Holy shit. Somebody glued those boobs on her body. Thanks for the link, I'm probably gonna be doing some of those exercises!

I do wonder what kind of guy she dates. It's either a big fat guy, or a guy so carved he's got that deep canyon separating his left and right abs.

Yeah - I was thinking of doing one of those circuits on my off days. She does some pretty intense stuff. And as painful as they look, they also look relatively fun.
He's on that blog. She's in better shape than him. But he's not fat or out of shape.
So today I tried one of the BodyRock.tv workouts. It kicked my ass! So you girls can make fun of me liking that site just because she's hot, but really she knows what she's doing too. I swear!
I did this warm-up:
http://www.bodyrock.tv/2010/10/23/warm-up-routine/
And this five part cardio workout (I did strength training Sunday and Monday so I wanted to do a more cardio aerobic workout today):

Finished 15 minutes ago and still sweating.
She's not that hot!
^this
No one said her workouts don't work. She's a porn star with rock solid porn star boobs and bodybuilder abs.
catty
Ha
She's a butter-face.

So I know I said I was going to go to a more typical workout for the winter, but that's just boring... So I tried something different today that I got from the book You Are Your Own Gym (which is an excellent book btw and I highly recommend it - no equipment needed at all and it's all great workouts).
I did 4 exercises. Each one for 7.5 minutes before moving on to the next.
I did them in a ladder pattern - which works like this:
You do 1 rep and then rest for as long as that rep took.
Then you do 2 reps and rest for as long as those took.
Then 3, continuing the pattern.
You keep moving up the "ladder" until you know you won't be able to do the next number and then you go back down until you hit 1 rep again. If your 7.5 minutes isn't up yet, you start the whole thing again.
After the 7.5 minutes you rest for a minute and then move to the next exercise.
The 4 exercises I did were:
- Push-ups
- Let Me Ups (it's kind of like an upside down push-up. You lay on your back under a bar and pull yourself up keeping your body rigid)
- Body-weight shoulder presses (it's where you bend at the hips and do a push-up with your body looking like an upside down V so your shoulders are taking most of the weight)
- Let Me Ins (you straddle a door and hold on to the door handle on each side and use basically do rows with your body weight as the resistance)
If anybody tries this type of workout or wants me to throw some more of these out - let me know.
That method sounds like it might be really productive and fun actually.
I lost 8 lbs last month. I'm pretty stoked about that as it is real progress instead of just daily fluctuations.
That's great Amber. Keep it up.
So far I haven't reached my goal of gaining any weight. I have slowly started adding more weight to certain workouts. I have toned up a lot so I'm happy about that. I'm hoping to start running again but my knees have not sounded to good lately so I'm a little worried.

Yeah they didn't last long, they were one minute men apparently.
