Has anyone ever hated you for no discernible reason?
Sometimes you meet someone who instantly shows nothing but contempt towards you. Why is this?
There are two or three people who seem to dislike me so much that it's impossible to take it seriously. I'll think, "But we've never even spent any time together. What could they possibly hate about me?"
And they their antagonism is so strong and so blatant that it verges on the comical. It's hard to take offense.
You ever had this experience?

They've probably based their opinion off what someone has told them about you. They are talking about you behind your back!
I don't think it's ever happened to me. It might have and I just never noticed. I'm kinda dense like that. Everyone that I do know that hates me, I've probably given them more then enough reasons to.
that happens like, every day in college.
Don't even look people in the eye here!
I ordered a "carmel machiatto" from this coffee place that wasn't starbucks, and the chick was like,
"you mean, like, starbucks style?"
She couldn't have been more pissed. I was like........"yeah."
Caramel Machiatto is common enough!!!
I think phil means more like, people you don't just meet randomly. Like, people who are friends of other friends who just don't you. I've had that too. It sucks.

That's a GREAT reason to hate someone. In fact, I think I might decide to hate you now too. Caramel Machiatto! For fucks sake!
!
It really annoys me when you meet someone and then a mutual friend tells you all the reasons you shouldn't like that person. That's so rude! I would never do that to someone.
fuck you! you didn't visit me in seattle. I hate you too.

Brentinlouis Wrote: What was that rule about being intentionally annoying?
Why would I visit you in Seattle? That's like eight thousand miles away!
!
hahaha, whoops. I got you mixed with damien mayfair. He used to have an avatar like that.......

You know I've got half a mind to come and visit you in Seattle, just to teach you a lesson!
!
I think that human beings just occasionally need someone to hate. It gives you focus.
I know a few of Evil Roommate's friends hate me because she's trash-talked me so thoroughly and used me as a scapegoat for a lot of the problems she had over the spring and summer. That sucks hard, but it's got nothing to do with me, and why would I want to be friends with people that disliked me for so little?
There is hope, but not for us.
My first grade teacher hated my best friend and I. I'm not saying she was just a mean teacher, she specifically hated the two of us. She gave us bad grades and would make us go in the hall to do our work and sent us to the principal every few days for no good reason. When we had pizza parties she would send the two of us to wait in the office. Once my friend and I got 100% on a spelling test and she put scratch and sniff stickers on everyones paper who did that and our stickers looked and smelled like skunks while everyone else got oranges and flowers. I have no idea what we could have done at 6 years old to make that woman hate us so much.
I've been on both sides. Every once and awhile I'll meet some one who shows obvious contempt towards me and I've met people that I absolutely fucking hate for no real reason.
I think it might be subconscious. Either you recognize something in or about someone that you've had bad experiences with before. Or maybe something genetic. Like two people who are so genetically incompatible that their kids be born with lobster claws and other webbed appendages.
Or maybe it's a Highlander thing: only one can survive.
I'm lying.
As sad as it is, I currently am that person. There is a girl I work with, and she just pisses me off. Has from the moment I met her. And the fact that she doesn't do her job makes it worse.
I'm trying to get a handle on it, because it's not right, but I think the reason I do it is because I view myself as weaker than most people, and the second I run into someone that I see as weaker than myself, I pounce.
I used to pick on a kid in high school. He was so annoying, and always did things to get attention. And he was super fat. But I always felt bad after I did it. I apologized too. It got to the point where he just stopped believing me. I was nice to him sometimes, but it's never the good times you remember when you're being picked on.
No dude, I figured it out.
There is hope, but not for us.
And the fact that she doesn't do her job makes it worse.
This is a discernible reason.
Hating someone still takes energy though. Often more energy than liking someone.
I don't find it difficult to turn the hate on and off. Someone's right there in front of me, and I haaaaaaate them, and it almost gives me a little adrenalin rush. Injects a little danger into a social situation. Then they hove out of my line of sight, and I go back to thinking my normal thoughts, like "I wonder what Robert Mugabe is doing RIGHT NOW!?" and "Wish I had a Kit-Kat."
There is hope, but not for us.
I don't remember anyone hating me for no reason.
I want to be your medicine
I want to feed the sparrow in your heart
I was walking down the street when a car drove past and the passenger yelled, "HOMO!" I've never seen him before in my life! Why would this happen?!
I don't know, but there are some people in this world I meet, and I can't remember their names or anything, but it's like we're mortal enemies. I can't explain it, but yes, there are no discerning qualities in these relationships. Just swollen and mutual hatred.
I swear, the same thing has happened to me.
The very first time this happened to me made me feel uncomfortable. I met a friend's boyfriend, and at the end of all of us hanging out, he goes "You know, for the first hour of all of us being together, I hated you. You just look like you'd be a bitch. Especially since I know a bitch who looks like you. But you're funny. I like you."
And I was speechless.
But not in the long run. Someone you like starts bitching about something, you gotta pretend to care, sometimes. Cumulatively, so much time wasted pretending. Hating someone, doesn't matter what they're gunna try to tell you, just No them. Fuck 'em right off.
Oh, God, do I know that feeling. Sometimes I wish I could be like you Six. I'm already a bit of a loner, but not exactly by choice. Hence, I got sucked into pretending to give a shit about this one girls problems. GAH! fuck off!
i catch people giving me dirty looks all the time. people i don't even know, it's retarded.
I may just be a perfect example for this site.

HAHAHA
I can't say that there's anyone i've hated for no reason.
I'm sure a lot of people hate me for seemingly no reason. I've been at bars where random dudes have tried to fight me or just threw shit at me. No idea why this happens, but i think it's because they're douchebags who either think i'm gay or are mad that no one is talking to them. People think i'm gay a lot, actually, and this, for a surprising amount of people, is enough to hate someone. People used to yell at me for sitting in a tree playing pokemon, too.
I don't know, it doesn't bother me. I probably deserve to be hated. I mean, you gotta hate somebody. Why not me?

This one time at the pool hall this gal came up to me after hearing I had said I didn't like her and decided to try and start some drama by calling me out on it, so when she asked me point blank if I had said that, i said right back "Yeah." Then she got all huffy because I wasn't going to hem and haw about it and asked why I didn't like her and I just said "Can't like everybody."
She later married my brother. God, what an awful person.
Ahaha.

There's no such thing as hating someone for no reason.
How good the reason is, now there's the ticket.
For instance, racists hate based on race.
Someone might hate you cause you remind them of someone they already hate.
You might hate because you THINK they be talking shit.
etcetera!
I LOVE FUCKING TREES
and I was pretty sure you were going to be stumped.
The people who hate me have their reasons, usually good ones too...
i've had a lot of haters in my day but in turn i was quite a hater myself. in fact it was one of my nicknames in high school. those were some rough years i hated everything and everyone and i have to say it was draining and a waste of time.
now i don't waste my time hating or pay attention to people hating. sometimes i get riled but i've learned to deal with it. i learned that sometimes being nice or showing kindness to haters/bitter ass people pisses them off even more which i find delightful.

If you say so. I've yet to find out what those reasons are, exactly. But it's okay. I forgive you.

As we speak, my ex wife is amassing an army of people I don't know for the sole purpose of having them hate me. It's touching to be remembered.
I don't think I hated anyone for no reason. And I don't know anyone who hated me for no reason..
I am pretty sure there are some out there...but I can't care less.
The Catmother of all Worldwide Cats
I do gotta say, in the few instances it's happened on here, when someone says how they hate me, it does give me some sick perverse thrill.
I sometimes wonder if any of these new people that join and be all dickheaded get that same feeling or if it's something that you've had to have been here for awhile to really get the full effect.
I hate you, Nate!
How 'bout it?
The Catmother of all Worldwide Cats
I've done it to people and I've had the same treatment. You just have to be witty. Or violent. Or apathetic. If you combine them all it's a triple threat, yay!
How 'bout it?
it's just not the same.
Generally, I hate most people until they give me a reason to like them. I only liked two people in my graduating class. Granted there were only 21 kids in that class, but still.

Home schoolin's a bitch, man...
Confession: I was home schooled! True story.
Sidenote: when I share this tidbit with teachers, they automatically hate me. I don't know why? They try to quiz me, like my mom taught me how to count when I was 15 using cherios, or something? It's uncomfortable.
About half of my friends growing up were homeschooled, and one or two of them even turned out normal! The rest are either social malajusts or in the military.
There is hope, but not for us.
I don't even know if you're allowed to be homeschooled here.

I always got mixed reactions to it. I was either treated like I was mentally retarded, or people would say things like "That sucks. How are you supposed to make friends if you're not in school?" As if school is the only place a person can make friends.
I actually liked being home schooled, though! I don't have any regrets about it. Other than people's judgmental attitudes towards it. I don't mind jokes at all, but I've literally seen people turn red because they were so angry that I was home schooled. Wowowow! Seriously? Who cares!
