I am intrigued. What are "Grendal Stories"? Are those all books that would be read in that order?

How are you liking Sandman? I have heard so many rave reviews about it from graphic novel fans, but from people that know me (although I enjoy graphic novels, I am also very picky about which ones I read, so anyway people that know me) tell me it's not something I would enjoy at all...

Thanks Audrey, that's actually good for me, I am not as into sci fi/superhero graphic novels. It's a rare one that can hold my interest actually.

Sandman was just ok to me. I understand why so many people love it. But it just wasn't my thing.
I kinda think that's how I would feel about it...I don't even really know what it's about thought, so I am kind of pre-judging it just based on my friend's comments.

I read the whole series. The whole time I was waiting for this big moment where I said, "Aha!" But I never got that. I just felt like it didn't live up to my expectations.
If you want weird and "other plane" or whatever - The Maxx is awesome. And I really enjoyed Alan Moore's The Swamp Thing Saga.

I see...I love The Maxx! Both the show and the comics.
I had trouble getting into The Swamp Thing, but I only read the first book, maybe I just need to give it a second chance...

Just got The Golem's Mighty Swing. About a Jewish barnstorming baseball team or something. Looks good. I'll report back afterwards.
Please do, sounds like an interesting topic for a comic.

I'm not a Frank Miller collector or expert, but anything he's done with Batman has sat well with me -most of the material is old, but it's some of the few graphic novels that I actually revisit every year:
The Dark Knight Returns
Year One
The Dark Knight Strikes Again
All Star Batman and Robin, Volume 1
I'm also big on Matt Wagner, and his Grendel stories:
Devil by The Deed
Devil's Legacy
Devil Tracks and Devil Eyes
God and The Devil
Devil's Reign
War Child
Devil Quest
Devil Child
Behold The Devil
