Girls clubhouse! (Metrosexual boys welcome!)
The pill is also a good way of regulating your periods though.
That it is, but I've always had a 28-day cycle, so I'm good. What the pill did for me was make it last less and I loved that.
I'm on the pill, the one I use is called Levlen. I went off it for a while last year because to get the one I'm used to (or similar) was really expensive here, like $50 a month, which wasn't worth it. So I went back to my Australian doctor in January and got a year's supply filled. So I guess I'll just have to go back to Australia in January again.. haha
I've never really had any problems with my period, I've been on the pill since I was 16 for medical reasons.. but this last week I had the worst PMT of my entire life. I was really emotional (nearly started crying at work for no reason), everything is sore and crampy, and this week I'm supposed to get my period. I just want it to be over.
Up until a couple of years ago I was on one called Loette for about 10 years. I never really had any issues with my period or anything on it.
I was on Yaz for a bit and it actually made me feel worse. I was prescribed it because I had really bad PMDD, although it helped with the blood flow and cramping Im guessing it would throw my hormone levels off in other ways causing me to get more irritable and aggressive than I already am. When my cousin got pregnant with twins she ended up giving me the year supply she had just gotten of Ortho- Tri Cyclen(?) I think that's how it's spelled. That one worked for me. It helped regulate my period and hardly any cramping pains or irritability.
I know it's hard to try out different birth control pills but if you have the option to choose from a couple if one doesn't work for you I would suggest trying out different ones.

Wolverine is my favorite.
And in the last row... is that Jason or Texas Chainsaw Massacre guy? I don't watch many horror movies.
Pretty sure it's meant to be Jason. Leatherface aka Chainsaw Massacre guy didn't wear a hockey mask
At the Titanic 3D premiere:

<3!
i loved the sleeves on this one though i felt bad for her that dicaprio did not show up.
Although I love Kate, I'm not sure I like what she's wearing. However, she looks like she's going back to her curves, which is nice to see.
Yes, me too! I read he's busy filming.

<3!
Kate Winslet, ever glorious. I can't actually wait for the movie, it opens next week here.
She really is a beautiful woman.
Whatever Whore!

my model of the day. beautiful women make work so much easier.
beautiful eyes.
Dunno if you gals saw this:

finally a magazine 'no photoshop' cover that isn't just a gimmick.

She's very beautiful, Barbara.
Kit, that makes me happy, I really like Cate.
This afternoon I went to a new teahouse with my girl friends. The place looks wonderful, so here are some pictures:

Fancy. Looks very cozy too.
I love how it kinda looks like it could be someone's house. I love bars/cafes like that.
here's a question.. how do you all organise your makeup/beauty stuff?
bags, baskets, drawers? we don't have a lot of room, and my stuff is currently in one small drawer and a couple of small cosmetic bags, but it's a pain to find anything, so I need a new system.
I have six boxes for bracelets, earrings, hair accessories, sunglasses, necklaces and lipglosses. My make-up stuff is in a little cupboard in my desk, I keep my foundation, primer, perfume and eye make-up out, and keep my mascara, brushes, pencils and small things in a zipper make-up bag.
My body products - lotions, moisturizers etc - are in the same cupboard, on the lower shelf. I like that they're never visible unless I open the door, but I can find everything when I need it.
I have all my stuff in about 4 desk drawers in which i have stuff in boxes or compartments i made out of boxes to separate certain things but make them easier to see and pull out as i need them. I actually use the old tampon(compact tampax) boxes cuz they are the perfect size to fit in the drawer. I just cut the top lips of the box off and I have a neat little compartment for lipsticks, nail polishes, tweezers, etc.
I hardly own any make-up. Girl fail!
Girl win!
It just means that you're naturally beautiful Imke.
I'm surprised at how much make-up I have for not being really girly. I think it's more of an artsy creative thing for me though. I have fun playing with different colored eye shadows and stuff. Yay for girly things!
I got rid of a lot of makeup when I moved countries, but I still have a fair bit. Working for women's magazines, I used to get a lot of stuff for free or cheap, but now that I don't I try to only buy stuff I know I'm going to use regularly .. I did have a bit of a nail polish buying habit, but I've cut down. I think I'm going to get some boxes, check out the dollar store or something.
I doubt that's what it means, but that's very nice of you to say, Jaz! <3
no, thats definitely what it means imke
you definitely are naturally beautiful, imke... but I'm guessing you just don't like makeup? doesn't make you any less of a girl
I DON'T LIE IMKE! Especially when I'm telling the truth
hehe Yeah, wearing makeup isn't for everyone. I'm surprised I've grown to wearing make-up but I try to wear very minimal or just have fun with it. But to wear makeup everyday is a pain in the ass.
yeah, I don't know how some girls can wear really heavy makeup every day.
I don't wear a whole lot, but I don't often leave the house (at least if I'm going to be out for the day, in public. if I'm going to play tennis or just nipping up to the store to get milk or something, then whatever) without tinted moisturiser, mascara and doing my eyebrows. I don't really like heavy foundations, I have a sheer-ish one I use if I need extra coverage. My everyday work look is tinted moisturiser, mascara, eyebrows and a little blush. Maybe eyeliner if I can be bothered. what does everyone else do?
I picked up a couple of things from the Kat Von D/Sephora line on Friday, an eyeshadow palette and a liquid eyeliner pen. I really like the colours and it's not overwhelmingly expensive. The palettes are $34 and you get 8 colours. The pigments are really nice quality too. The little brushes that come with it are crap, but I have my own brushes so I don't really care.

I get my make up at target or CVS hahaha
On a daily basis I don't wear makeup. If I happen to have enough time to put make up on I use a light foundation from covergirl or maybelline. Neutral shades of eyeshadow in beige, browns, and pinks. A shimmer blush powder to give my cheeks a lil glow. Very little eyeliner on the corners of my lids. Curl my lashes, I used to use clear mascara but now I use black and very lightly. Nude lips.
To go out I love experimenting with lots of colors. I use up to five colors and my goal is not to look like a clown. I've tried taking pics of it but I don't have the right camera and lighting for makeup pics. I also use a metallic liquid liner in amethyst which I really like, that brings out the green in my eyes.
this made me laugh so much just now.. awesome
I get stuff from cvs/duane reade too, covergirl, revlon, essie, sally hansen, etc etc. Man, I've bought nail polish from the dollar store, so I'm not really fussy about brands. I'm usually looking for a specific colour or item, so if I can find it cheap, then definitely cool with that. If not, or if it's something I know I'll get a lot of use out of, I don't mind spending a little more.
yeah, I don't know how it is outside of l.a. I'm sure in certain parts of new york the ghetto fabulous people love looking like clowns or drag queens and it's scary. What worries me is that a lot of these girls are really pretty underneath all that stucco and plaster of make-up. What bother's me the most are the girls who put on make up to go swimming or to workout. Really?! I get lazy to take my make up off before working out or i forget to bring wipes to take it off but never will I purposefully apply make up so I can look like I'm about to do a photoshoot while working out. Silly girls.
yeah, plus having your pores blocked while you're sweating is really bad for your skin!
def. parts of ny are ghetto fabulous.. some of the girls I work with the Dominicans and Puerto Ricans, they don't wear a lot of makeup to work, but I've seen weekend photos of them and I was a little shocked.. craaazy drag queen makeup and coloured contact lenses and shit. i couldn't go out looking like that, but I guess to each their own.

I guess it's a way of making sure you can't be identified during your daily routine haha.
I was told once by a guy that I wore gangster/chola makeup. I wanted to smack him til his head spun. I don't use Sharpie's mang.
Thanks, you guys.
It's not that I don't like make up, it's just that it takes a lot of time, and I'm not very skilled with putting it on my face.
I always wear mascara, now and then some eyeliner, that's it.
maaan, I wish we could all have a girly makeup/tea party/sleepover
YESSS!!!
That would be fun.
My boyfriend's Mum bought me a make-up box from Ted Baker. It's nice but it doesn't fit all my stuff in, so I quite often find lip glosses and nail varnish around my flat in the weirdest places.
I keep my nailpolish in the eggbox section of my fridge... which reminds me, I bought this Beetlejuice ModelsOwn nailpolish at the weekend and it was totally false advertising. Really disappointing!
Oh and every day, apart from Sundays I use Maybelline/Loreal liquid eyeliner and assorted mascaras and lipgloss. I like to wear Loreal no.390 nude treasure lipstick but I usually forget to put it on.
I don't really use foundation.
false advertising? what colour was it supposed to be?
That colour! My nails are now a really horrible brown plum colour.
that sucks
i've not heard of model's own. is it an english brand?
I think it might be. It's also fairly new.
In my opinion, Barry M is the best. It's cheaper (that Modelsown stuff cost me £5 a bottle) and has a bigger range of colours.
I need Girly input!
I want to send my favourite nurse flowers. What kind should I get?
Gerber Daisies sound perfect Alecia!
Whatever Whore!
Don't get roses!

Gerber daisies or some fancy spring flowers like irises. Or a mixed bouquet of irises and daffodils.

I was on Yasmin as well for about half a year. it had countless advantages but I stopped taking it when I realised the amount of sex I was(n't) getting was not worth the pills.
