Girls clubhouse! (Metrosexual boys welcome!)
love those
I kind of want to buy this dress, but I'm afraid it wouldn't look good on me.

Girls, help meh...
Should I do my own make up for my wedding? I think I okay on my own, but I'm worried that I might need a professional to determine if the way I do it will be okay considering the lighting at the church and the reception. I just don't want to look bad in the pictures. I don't want to spend too much, but I think I could get someone onsite for make up only for $100 at the most. I've already got someone lined up for my hair. This is how I do on my own....really the best picture example I can think of to show you, but it's not very close up:

I say pay for someone, but thats me. I have super oily skin and the only time my makeup looked great all day/night was when I paid someone to do it for my sister's wedding.

I think I'm going to go with a professional, the more I think about it.
I have this stuff, and for me, it does exactly what it promises. It's $29 a bottle, but it's lasted me about a year so far, so it's worth the investment. It's perfect for Southern weather, for sure. You might think about getting some if you wear make up often enough to merit it.
I don't know if you guys have a MAC store near your place or maybe another really nice make up store where they give free make overs with purchase of their products. If you have a certain make up look you want for your wedding I suggest buying their products and have them show you how to achieve the look you want for free so if you were to do your own make up you at least know what a professional would do if you decided it to do it yourself. Plus you end up with the proper products you need for the big day. But if you have the extra cash to fork out on a make up artist I'd say go for it.
Thanks,Jaz...I talked with someone at the Clinique counter a couple of weeks ago (I use their powder & mascara) and they said they could do a make over session a couple of hours before the event. I do think I'm going to go with a make up artist...I like the stuff they can do with the airbrush look, and it seems like that stuff lasts, and I'm gonna need it to last late into the night. And, they can be onsite.
All I know is that you are going to make a beautiful bride Alecia. Be-you-tiff-ull.
I feel more like I do now than I did before.
I've been getting very excited for your wedding whenever I think of it Alecia. It feels like one of the Big Cult Events of this year.
Yeah it feels like we're invited. Everytime I watch those reality wedding shows or see black and white wedding stuff I think of you. For a while I felt like I was shopping around for your wedding Haha. I can't wait to see the pictures.
Yeah I'm super excited about Alecia's wedding too!
What? We are not invited? Uh, well, uhm...
I feel more like I do now than I did before.
This is what my friends got me for my birthday.

Meee-owwww!
I feel more like I do now than I did before.
That's a model that looks good on almost any body type. And it'd definitely look good on you.

Are the scissors broken in your house, son?
The link doesn't work for me!
________
I present to you my new sweater. It's very simple, but I really like the color.

The colour is beautiful! Is this the H&M one?
Also, is that a little blackboard in the background?
Yeah, it's the one I went back for!
No, it's not a blackboard (sort of looks like it though), but a small poster.

Hmm, the link just worked for me. Maybe it's a rude America-only link. The site has been going pretty slowly this morning though.
That sweater is so cute and you're so lovely Imke!

Link didn't work for me either.

It's like the sweater has your DNA woven into it. Green eyes.

Aww, Imke's such a cutie pie. The neck on that sweater is good!

Are leggings popular in the US/Europe? I know they're an 80s throwback but I would say that they're one of my fashion staples with a baggy shirt.
They are here. Unfortunately, very fat ladies wear them too. I haven't owned a pair since I was maybe 7 or 8, and not planning on getting one soon.
That, and I probably wouldn't find any to fit..
If you did like them you could buy children sized ones.
I like them because they are almost as comfy as tracksuit bottoms but slightly more socially acceptable...
Love these:

Love these:

This pair is AWESOME!
Agreed.

See, I knew you'd come round Irina!
These are cool but they probably look horrible on (unless you're anorexic).

I like those even better. Like Native American Escher tattoos.

IMKE!!! I've been waiting for a sweater and some things from Forever 21 and they weren't supposed to show up until Thursday but THEY ARRIVED TODAY. I think because of your sweater picture!
Fox with giant eyelashes. GIRLS CLUBHOUSE!

The other things I got:

I've never been into the "owl stuff" trend. Then I moved into this apartment and there is an owl that must live in the tree in front of my apartment and it "hoo hooooo hoooooo"s all morning and made me start thinking about OWLS.
NPR IS TALKING ABOUT THE TARGET WEBSITE CRASH RIGHT NOW HAHA
apparently people lined up outside of Targets and literally bought everything and then proceeded to get into little groups outside of the store to trade! Crazy! And the website was down most of the day due to heavy traffic!
Are the scissors broken in your house, son?
You and Imke look like siblings.
I feel more like I do now than I did before.
It's the sweaters.
I should only be so lucky to have an Imke sister!

Hah! I actually have a sister who does not look like she's my sister.
Sam, that sweater's cute and I love the owl stuff!
Harriet, leggings are/were very popular here as well. I can't wear them though, I'm pear shaped.
Leggings have definitely made a comeback in the states in the past year or two, same with tights.

God, I hate tights. I think I already said that, though.
I don't like leggings, either.
They're fine on other people, but I won't wear either of those. For me, anything that was in style when I was growing up is not something I'd be keen on wearing now. When I was 15, which would have been 1990ish, EVERYONE wore leggings with baby-doll dresses (and those big ass black shoes with tiny thin laces. Or buckles. Like pilgrim shoes. Fucking gross). Also, I can't stand that puffy sleeves or frilly collars ever came back. All my shirts and dresses from 1982 through 1985 had that shit and it was hideous.

blech blech blech
My mom is the world's worst when it comes to leggings. They're not age appropriate, and she does it wrong anyway. You can't convince her that pairing a giant man's shirt with leggings and a belt stopped being cool in '87.
Haha, oh dear Alecia, I think I may be your fashion nightmare.
PS the grey shirt you posted (with the bows) is OTT, I admit.
I try to only wear leggings to workout, to sleep, or when I'm really cold I wear them under my jeans.
In the summer I usually wear shorts or knee/full-length skirts, but when winter rolls around I break out the shorter skirts with leggings or tights underneath. I would never wear tights or leggings as pants, though. I think I could pull it off, but...I don't know. There's some kind of composure that one displays when substituting leggings for pants that I just don't possess. I won't even wear skinny jeans unless my shirt or jacket is longer than waist-length. THE POLITICS OF LEG COVERAGE

I love both of these though!
Of course if I had it my way my entire wardrobe would consist of nothing but grey with the occasional splash of black or orange. Most of my wardrobe does already, but other people I know are insistant that I have to have color in there to.
Somewhere around my early to mid twenties my inclination to wear all black faded into all grey.
All this stupid color keeps showing up out of nowhere though. I rarely buy it, I do not know where it comes from.
I just feel so loud in color.
That second shirt is awesome, I don't care if no one else agrees. The only thing it could do with out is the ruffle down the front on either side of the buttons.
What jaz said.
